Default copic color names

Does anyone know where there is a list of the names for all of the colors?

I got a compressor today....I think I've died and gone to heaven!

Once my next order gets here, I'll be up to 93. I still "NEED" 17 more.
Then I'll be happy, but if some of you have 200, hmmmm.

Do you mean a list of names for all colors that there are PRESENTLY? For that, you could go to the web sites of any stores that carry them. I believe they would all list the name and the number. I know that www.oozak.com does becuase that's who I always order from. Also, www.copicmarkers.com might list them.

As far as the names of the NEW colors that are coming out, I know Marianne had them listed on her site not too long ago. Her site is www.ilikemarkers.com. You could check there. I believe I read it only about 1-2 weeks ago (not sure).

Also, IF I remember correctly, most of the new colors will be very light, like in the "000" area of the color families.

I just counted and I'm at 175

I started with the full set of CIAO's that were a Mother's Day gift over 2 years ago so that was 144 right there. I've been adding a few Sketch markers here and there as I come across colors I don't have.

Knowing my OCD I'll prolly eventually own them all. It's just gonna take me a REALLY long time to get there tho!

wow everyone .....thanks for counting!!!! I find it very interesting.
I have not seen the thread with the poll on it for how many markers they have.
I do think I will keep buying them but I doubt I ever get to 300 only because I don't see a need to have every color, other than to say you have a complete set.

Amy what a great mothers day gift. You are close to owning them all now so never say never.

Is there a marker club where u can pick out like ten markers a month and get free shipping? If not there should be.

Here's the poll...you can click the number to see who had what...though I know many have increased their collections by a LOT since March!

I could be mistaken, but I thought GinaK did something like that...or one of those other companies...I think it was that each month you got a portion of a set...you don't get to pick colors.

But you can order from www.oozak.com and get free shipping on $50...so you could just buy 12 Sketch (more Caio) each month, and pick your colors! Your own personal club...LOL

Yikes...I was working off an old count....I think I have repressed the additional order I did on the bay...someone was selling off a bunch of neutrals...must have gotten a set and didn't want all those greys...

Anyway...my count is really 124 plus three on the way!

I have 223. I really only "need" about 10 more. I usually get mine at either www.oozak.com or www.creativeplaystamps.com. I've also bought a few from Hobby Lobby.

Do you mind me asking where you got the Compressor from and how you hooked it all up? I wanted the Copic one, but it's $250 here in Canada and so, I know some people were using normal smaller Compressors, but wasn't sure.

TIA for your help!!!

I bought the Sparmax AC100 that copic recommends at merriartist.com for $164. I bought the copic grip and adapter and it all fit together without any hassle. They had free shipping. This is not the site that had free shipping to Canada--but there is one out there. I remember noting it because I've seen the notes on this mb about those problems. I'll keep my eyes open when I'm online in days to come.

Thank you... if you do see some place that has free shipping, please let me know... Thanks again.

Have fun with your airbrush!

Amanda,

I got mine for Mothers day from Deserres:

http://www.deserres.ca/

The same great machine. It is pricey at $249, but it's so simple and a lot quieter than I expected. So easy to set up that I didn't even need DH You should be able to find it right in the store as they only have a couple of models available so no shipping costs...

I was told you can get a smaller compressor that only goes to 40 psi like at Canadian Tire but I didn't want to start looking for the correct hoses, adapters etc.

I had the ABS-3 set already, but if you buy the Sparmax AC100, you only need to get the much cheaper ABS-3 without the Aircan and hose. You really only need the Grip and the Aircan adapter (as nayttap said)

Another alternative you have is to buy the bigger starter system with the Aircan and invest in the compressor later on once you got to play a little to see if it's worth the investment. You can then wait for sales or for more to pop up on this side of the border (if copics are here it's only inevitable that the compressors won't be that far away)

Deserres did have an email coupon recently for 1 item at regular price for 15% off so a least you save the taxes...I can try and dig it out if you need....

I got my ABS-1 kit from Sam here as I never found another Canadian source:

http://scrapbookstar.ca/shop.asp?itemnum=cxabs1

Shipping is $8.15 but she ships so fast...you can also get an extra Aircan to bring you over 100$ for free shipping.....

HTH and Good Luck in your hunt!!
Terri

If you are serious about looking into airbrushing I know I was given a link to Harbour Freight on here and there was an airbrushing thread which would be worth having a look for as many of those ladies had been on the course as well. HTH.

I currently use GIna K pure luxury CS and I LOVE it. I have both the 80lb and the 120 lb. I'm wanting to try out the Neenah CS too. Which one do you prefer?

This week I'm going to be heading down to the paper warehouse, Kelly Paper. They carry Neenah. They have two finished, Smooth and smoother. Which do you prefer? Do you use the 80lb or the 110lb.

Thanks!

Congrats on you new Copics, Jenny! I was stressed out when I first got mine since I couldn't figure out how to colour with them, but it's been a few months now and I love them, use them to do 90% of my colouring. did you get a bunch or a few? For us Canadians the online store Curry's sells sets of 36 Ciao (in colour groups A, B, C, or D) which are the best price around....

I have exactly 144. I purchased the four sets of Ciao makers. I've had them about three weeks and am in LOVE!

My plan is to start filling in with sketch markers.

I have all the Ciaos, and I'm working on the Sketches....you always need that certain color, right ladies???? With my "wish list" of 24 more markers, I will have all the colors and some of the grays. I didn't bother with the florescent ones...figured they were too bright. Has anyone out there used them?? I love the others though, don't know how I lived without them....hee hee hee.

Default Copics & house mouse

Hi all, Sorry if I am asking a question that has already come up. I went through about 30 pgs on this thread and cant find my answer.
I am new to copic I only have a dozen of them. I am placing a new order within the next day or so and I have some cute House Mouse stamps I want to color with Copic. Does anyone have any good suggestions on colors u would use for your mouse or know of a tutorial that might help me?
I saw different tutotials I googled but that was mainly gamsol or water coloring, for gray fur I want to try a range of browns w/ copics. Thank you for taking the time to read this

I have the Ciao set of markers and feel that I have plenty to get a good range of colors. When I color my house mouse stamps, I usually use W1, W3, W5, W7 for my warm greys. For my brown tones I almost always use E31, E33, E35, and E37.

HERE is a HOUSE MOUSE stamp that I colored in with the colors above. For the faces I used E00, R21 and for the pinks I usually use R20, but I'm starting to like E93 better. It seems to blend better than R20.

I agree...if you want a brownish gray...use the W's...they remind me of a dirty mouse every time I use one...LOL

I use those W's all the time. At first, I thought they were a waste. I use them to blend brighter colors to tone them down. Hold on, I'll find some others where I've used the W's.

Great work!

And I totally agree with your recommendations -

I have lots of whimsical animal stamps and W's and E30's tend to be in all of them in some way or another.

In fact I just got refills for quite a few of them!

I use my C's as well for manufactured greys and blacks such as tires, leather etc...

Has anyone tried weighing their markers to see if they need refilling? I'm wondering if there would be enough difference in a full and a drying out marker to be able to tell.....so that I could do an online order for refills BEFORE the marker is actually "dry".

Thoughts?

ETA: pulling out a bunch of conversion factors...4 ccs (a sketch refill) come out to 0.1 ounces..... if I did my math right..... so a digital scale might actually show something...but it would probably be visible in use by then.

Thoughts?

ETA: pulling out a bunch of conversion factors...4 ccs (a sketch refill) come out to 0.1 ounces..... if I did my math right..... so a digital scale might actually show something...but it would probably be visible in use by then.
I have noticed that they are lighter then heavier when I have refilled them but I hadn't thought about weighing them.

I would love to see the new colors - are they available to "see" anywhere?

Thanks

Well I did it! I ordered 45 new ones, a mix of sketch & ciao. mostly ciao. I ordered for Carpe diem store total w/ shipping was $156, I could have ordered the ciao set of 72 for 200 but then I could not pic all the colors I wanted and I already had 5-6 markers in each set. That would have been a waste right?
I only have 11 Ciao markers currently but feel They works so nicely how could I be going wrong? I thought maybe I should have tried some less expensive markers like the Prisma which I could use my michael's coupon for but would if they aren't as good? I am a no non sense gal. I dont want to spend money on a product that wont give me the best results. I spend allot of time on my cards so I feel it's worth it. I hope my hubby agrees. ekkk!

I have all the Ciaos and a couple of Sketch. Now, I shouldn't have to "replace" a marker - I can order reinkers and nibs so my costs go down and I have a product I love. Occasionally I may pick up the odd Sketch, however, I am very happy with the color selection I have. I may consider the pale colors that are coming out, however I don't think they are necessarily a necessity for me. To me Copics were an investment that I should have as long as I can imagine coloring from what I have read.

That is where they really won me over - I never have to splash out for another marker again I can just refill and maintain the ones I have!
