Oh yeah, I had good luck with my momento and GP so I am pleased.

The spreading on my images is due to me not knowing now how to use my blender as well as playing with the colors and re-coloring when I didn't like how the gray blended my colors.

So that brings me to a question: How do you know which gray you should use to blend with? I mean I know mostly when to use warm/cool but not sure how you decide which level to use. TIA.

Ok...this is from when I first started buying Copics...but I am sharing this just because you have the same penguin and asked about it... ...I just added a hint of beige to his belly for definition and lighter grey for shading:

Awesome, thank you for sharing, I appreciate it. Isn't he the cutest?

So you used beige on his belly? Like a light "E" color and then went over it with a light gray for shading? I see your fish is orange too. DBF is a HUGE angler and told me the fish should be green because there are only gold (orange) fish in fish bowls. I said "well, it goes better than green". Also, your water hole looks better than mine. I can't think right off the colors I used, do you remember what colors you used?

Thank you so much for sharing!! He's super adorable!

The ORANGE fish is the part he doesn't agree with??? So he is totally ok with a Penguin holding a fishing pole??? LOL

I think I used a BV20-something on the ice-hole...not sure exactly. And on the belly I left it white except for a slight outline on the bottom inside in a very pale E.

can you guys help me pick between yr16,yr18,yr06 and E08. I figure someone might have them in person. I'm looking to find a good autumn terracotta and pumpkin pie, or rust color. Really for fall. I seen these as some suggestions and just want to get one. I mostly have ctmh paper so autumn terracotta would be closest but i'm not sure which marker.

E08 would be a fall-ish rusty brown color and YR18 would be a orange-y rust color. YR16 is close to the SU Pumpkin Pie color...and YR06 does not exist.

So it depends on which one of the colors you want more....or get all three.

Hahahaha............I just told him about your coloring and that the fish was orange too!! I told him sometimes in stamping you have to think outside the box and it's more about color combos. So now I just had to share that with him.......wish I'd of thought of that.........I was laughing and told him that you got him, penguin don't fish! He says in a silly voice, yes they do but laughed.

I'll practice him again today, I hope. I don't have that BV but I'll see what I've got and try it. THANKS!

Some of us are newbies, well, me for sure, and I posted my colorings for input on learning as there is no class in my area right now. I'm glad you shared your creation, she's absolutely adorable!!! We need encouragement with these markers I think, they can be intimidating to learn.

I like it and thanks for sharing how you got your boots/scarf. I've been working on my black technique so this will help!

You did some great shadowing and blending too......I hope to get that good someday! TFS.

I've recently been looking for those as well because I certainly don't have any images in my 100+ SU sets to color in, hehe!! Anyhow, I've found some fun ones (these are the clear or rubber with cling I guess they're called since I'm getting into those now too) from Inkadinkadoo (sold at HL for sure and on many other sites), ClearDollarStamps.com (just got a shipment yesterday and have colored a few images, see my earlier post of a moose and then a horse in daisies). I got some from Unity which is the penguin in my post that I colored. I also got some from HL but I don't recall the name of the company, probably Stampendous or Inkadinkadoo. I need to color those, they're flowers and hearts/valentines type. I can't attest to quality on any of these so far as I've barely used them, etc. but what I have thus far, love them!

Good luck and post what you color.

I practice alot! I've had my markers for about 2 years and have used them pretty much every day. I'm still learning.

Fun to color in no particular order:

Elzybells

High Hopes
Whipper Snapper
Unity
Lizzie Anne Designs
Our Craft Lounge
Impression Obsession
Sweet 'n Sassy
Gina K Designs

I could probably name another dozen companies that I have in my stamp stash.

I'm realizing how important the grays are now so I just placed a last order before the price increase to get some. I got a bonus at work so I took a portion of that for copics but now I must be done for a bit.

I'm sure there's always something to learn, just like stamping, I feel so far behind in all I still need to learn. Just not enough time with having a thing called a job AND going to school, I guess. But at least I have them when I do have time. SO fun!

The first image said image pending but the 2nd one is great. You did a nice job with the dog specifically. I'm having trouble with animals still but yours looks really good. I think you're coming along nicely!!

There is no time limit to learning. Don't pressure yourself to learn everything at once. Just take your time and enjoy the process.

Marianne's blog is jam packed with info. Much of this I just learned by doing, so you have a head start.

My biggest thing was finding the right paper and ink that worked for me. Everyone will have a different opinion here on that. Once you get the right paper/ink combo that fits you the rest is just practicing.
