I saw a post today about that too. I ordered from C.D. Sunday afternoon (the advertised last day of the sale) and got an email tonight that it had been shipped. I had ordered from Oozak on Saturday and expect that delivery tomorrow. I'm blaming this thread on my excesses ~ just cannot pass up a bargain! More fun is on the way, though!

Urgh, where is mine? I've been checking on and off all night, guess I'll go see if I've an email. I ordered Sunday.

DBF said if I sold his quad tires I could use that money for copics.....I better get busy!!!

I checked my account on CD earlier tonight and the order said processing, but when I click to see the itemized order, each marker says shipped and status is complete. Then I received my shipping notice about 6:30 Pacific Time. I wonder how long it'll take to get here. They're about an hour away from me. Oozak orders take two days from MI. I'm done ordering until I can get in more practice time to see which markers I'm missing for what I need.

Well, I held out for as long as I could, and finally placed my order with Carpe Diem on Saturday night since Oozak still didn't have the sets in stock. I recieved my shipping notification, and they should be here on Friday. I'm looking forward to receiving that big box of goodies (but not the bill that will follow ). Now I just need to figure out how I am going to store all these. I love the Magpie storage units I've seen used, but don't really want two of them just for markers, and same with the buckets. I guess I'll wait and see what the boxes they come in are like and go from there.

RiverIsis, I LOVED your image! Very, very cute!

I hope all these sales are done soon, so we can go back to coloring, instead of shopping for colors...

Some things I've been occupying my time with... Most of them were acquired through the WISHRAK, which I absolutely love. The last image, though, was stamped in StazOn, so I was trying to be really careful to not smear it. It did a little bit, but since I am only using it to decorate my own binder for school, I'll use it anyway. I would have liked to blend it more, but I knew that my strokes were limited, so I did very little and tried not to touch the lines at all. Oh well, it's fun, and that's what it's all about...

I have a quick question. I may be missing it, but is there a "search" button on Maryanne's blog to look up her copic tips?

Thanks girls!

if you look at the very top of the screen there is a field next to the blogger symbol. THis allows you to search just my blog.

Thank you! Maryanne do you know when a copic video tutorial will be coming out? I know there's a beginner sketch on now.

Thank you!

Oh, and 1 more question. I'm ordering some Gina K. Paper. Is it the 80lb Pure Luxury Layering Cardstock you prefer for use with copics?

Thanks again!

THe 80 lb takes less ink. As for Tutorial videos, we have a papercrafting airbrushing DVD with Ellen Hutson coming out sometime this spring. I think you'll find it VERY useful.

Thank you again Marianne! If you don't airbrush, will the tutorial still be helpful?

Yup, I too had to buy the pretty bucket from Amuse in the sage...sadly though, I will be several markers shy of filling it, but that's something I can certainly work on, right? If only my DH doesn't find out how much those markers cost...YIKES...

Anyone know where to find lots of refills for copic sketch markers? I have been desperately looking, especially for one marker (sand)...

Yeah for the bucket! We can be twins. Except, I'm already on bucket number 2, lol.

Most of the places that sell the markers sell the refills. You can try Oozak, Carpe Diem, Merriartist, just to name a few of the popular places.

Well, prices went up to $4.87 at Carpe Diem so I'm done ordering for a few months. I think 250 should do me just fine for quite some time.

I think Linda (owner of Amuse) should be happy with me. I'll have to tell my friend Rachel to tell her that I've sold so many buckets for her.

And the funny part, my friend Rachel is going there tomorrow to get me another bucket, lol. So I'll finally have 2 and can fit all my markers!

Carpe Diem always seems to have Copic products in stock. You might want to try there first.

Again, very good. I totally love snowmen and you did great.

Question: What color did you use to outline the snowman and what one did you use for the people figures?

Thanks!

I ordered a custom 12 pack of markers from them and would recommend them to anyone. I was impressed with their shipping time and their customer service.

Default Great Storage!

I bought the Copic display case (as used in stores) from Oozak, organized my markers, and love it! It is set up directly in front of me on my work table, as I use the Copics so often, but it would probably work well on a shelf. I usually work off my color inventory to choose the desired marker, and having it face me makes it is so easy to locate the right number. The acrylic is thick, and there is no assembly; so the dividers should stay firmly in place. It's so easy now to locate the right marker. The footprint is small, ca. 4 1/4" x 16" (11" tall).

I have over 220 markers, a mix or Original and Sketch, but there is still room in it for another 30 or so. I've seen the postings about various other storage containers, but I really think this one is the most satisfactory...just not the cheapest ($39).

All Copic markers can be used together; it's all the same ink.

There are differences between the Sketch and the Ciao that may or may not be of importance to you.

The Sketch are oval and don't roll off your desk. The Ciao are round and will roll.

The Sketch have the name and color number printed on both caps. The Ciao do not which make it harder to tell which marker you are grabbing, particularly if you store them on end.

The Sketch have more ink in them, so they won't need refills as soon or as often.

The Sketch come in substantially more colors than the Ciao. About 322 Sketch colors and only about 144 Ciao colors.

You can airbrush with the Sketch without having to rig something to make it work like you do with the Ciao.

The Sketch are more expensive than the Ciao, but worth it to me for the reasons listed above.

HTH!
