Sitting here sick awaiting my Copics, I KNOW they're on a delivery truck here but WHEN?!?!?! Hopefully before my next nap!

DBF is supposed to really be outta town this wkend so I need to know where I can get the best deals on all this paper that's talked about: Ginak, Papertrey, and the GP (I thought that was mentioned like Meijer, Wal-Mart?). I also need, yes NEED for some day in the future I'm sure, the Opaque White paint. One of my biggest reasons for wanting these were to color snowmen and woman , skys, lakes (angler set), deer (noble deer).

Given the above, do I want more or less feathering?

I've obviously not printed enough off of Mariannes blog then, I've only about an inch of paper. Just so you know Marianne, YOU ROCK!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

That's because the link is wrong. I have an extra 'h' in there. It should be http://www.oozak.com/i/cop/ex/COPIC_9_Pager.pdf

You were right! I would love to have one already filled in but unless a kind soul who owns way more markers than I do is willing to make one for me, I will just make do with what I have.

THE COPICS ARE HERE! THE COPICS ARE HERE!!
I got my order and I am so excited to try them out now...I guess I got 38 markers, though not all were Copics. BUT....

Rusty, When did you say that next order was coming??? I'm looking at your website and most of them are OOS I "need" a multiliner pen, which I forgot to order, and some of the lighter shades like the B91 mentioned above

okay I am seriously bummed! My Copics arrived today and my paper is not compatable with the copics. I just purchased Momento ink but it bleeds with the copics on this paper (which I was some-what prepared for as I had not heard a verdict on how it works with Copics. Staples brand 110lb).

The frusterating part is I live out in the sticks...so good, compatable paper is not within my reach and purchasing online costs me more money than the paper. For instance...paper is 6.99, shipping to Canada...$10! I have no idea what I am gonna do...lol.

Soooo frusterated!!

Are you letting the Memento Ink dry long enough? I use Staples 110 all the time and no problems with bleeding. Do you maybe need to heat set it? If it's the ink that's bleeding, then the paper isn't the problem...I think. Do you have any SU or CTMH paper? I know that they both work fine.

Yes, I let the momento ink dry quite awhile and I purposely just purchased this ink as I was told it didn't need to be heat set.

Stamping up whisper white is coated and they say it isn't a good paper to use with Copics just because the colour doesn't soak in

Well geez, now I look like a total dork! I go between SU Whisper White, Staples 110 and my CTMH depending on what kind of "white" I want. I've never had a problem with any of them...but I'm not an artist either, so not a whole lot of bleding and shading going on, just a little bit. Maybe that's the difference.

hey! You shouldn't feel like a dork...lol. If it works for you and you aren't having any problems then that is great! If it works, it works. I really appreciate you trying to help me, so thank you very much.

Take a pic for us????

This bleeding thing has me puzzled, as I have only had bleeding with SU ink, and even then only if I rubbed the marker over the ink...which I usually don't.

I have used both Brilliance and Memento...NO heat setting on either one without any bleeding on any paper...well haven't tried SU...because...WHY? LOL

A picture would help...

I just got my copics!! I'm not sure I've the right Adirondik (sp) ink, really wanted momento as it seems most preferred.

I did color a snowman w/o a stamped image and I think I blended pretty well. I want to color some stamps so I'm taking my sick self to Walmart in hopes they've GP and momento ink!!! HL was out when I was there (and I sorta live in the sticks but I've a close walmart) hence my Adorindak purchase.

Some of the spica glitter pens seem more sparkly than others but maybe will be better in a real image instead of a scribble!

What FUN!

Uhoh! Now I am worried, this is the paper I bought in preparation for my copics. I suppose I will have to try it out! If not I have A LOT of 110lb paper, white cardstock! Dang!

I am just about to do a wee little experiment. I stamped an image twice, I heat set one and I am letting the other sit and making sure it sits a descent amount of time (just to be sure). I am gonna try what Marianne suggests on her blog about checking the cs to be sure it is up to standard. Will let you know how it turns out.

I definately had bleeding on my first stamped image BUT, not on all spots...so I am gonna give it a heavy duty testing...lol!

okay, so this is what I have discovered. The heat set one is much better BUT there is still minor bleeding (only in a couple of spots). The not heat set one there is much more increased bleeding (especially, where I purposly went over the lines). For myself, I will have to bite the bullet and order the paper I need on-line (maybe combine an order with a friend) as I do not want to have to be that intensly careful as to not go over a stamped line, or have feathering meet up to the line and cause bleeding.

These are just my own personal findings on the Staples brand 110lb cs with Momento ink.

About the bleeding ink thing ... I am by NO means anything but a pure rookie here, but Jessica (from Gina K's -- in my backyard!!! how cool is that?! OK, getting off topic here...) uses Memento Tuxedo Black, then puts clear EP on it and hits it with the heat gun. It prevents bleeding AND coloring outside of what you want to color.

I'm in the "testing" phase, doing the straight stamp and let it dry awhile thing, the heat set thing and the EP thing and playing around with all of the above. Haven't had enough personal experience to say any which way...

I have used Versafine black embossed with clear on PTI cardstock that works. I got the idea from Jenn at KiyomiKrafts and her fantastic tutorial
here: http://www.kiyomikrafts.com/kiyomi/2...opics-101.html

I have also used memento on PTI Cardstock and Gina's Pure Luxury. I do have to wait for it to dry. I think it might have to do with the humidity. My craft room is the basement and it is humid.

I have also used memento on PTI Cardstock and Gina's Pure Luxury. I do have to wait for it to dry. I think it might have to do with the humidity. My craft room is the basement and it is humid.
Yes, humidity CAN be the culprit (I live in North Carolina); try blow drying the paper (I tried my heat gun, but wasn't very vigilent and burned the paper instead of drying, so now it's my blow dryer that dries the paper).

THanks again gals!
I don't have E51 but I have E53 and E00 and they are different, the E00 is pinker, a flesh tone...the E53 is beige with no pink.

Do you need both? Depends on how many markers you have. If you have 20...NO...if you have 100...possibly...if you are going from 200 towards completing a set, then YES.

This is my hand-colored chart that I refer to for so many answers to color comparison questions...this way you can look at it yourself!

Thanks for this! It was interesting to me, because I kind of thought I had gotten some "duds" since the colors were soooo different than the monitor or the printed chart...but they are the same on your chart, so I guess that's just how they are! Most of them were the same (when I colored with the actual marker next to the printed chart) but some were waaaay different. Like G99...hello, it looks totally like a pure dark green on the monitor/print out but IRL it is very yellowish, a darker version of G97. KWIM?

Looking at your filled in chart, would you say B60 is lighter than B91, then?

Yeah it is (almost not there)...but I think it's more gray. I don't like it for skies...well unelss it's a rainy day sky. LOL I would call it SUPER PALE Grayish Lavender.

And yeah...when I was first ordering, so many were WAY off what I expected from the online and pritable swatches. Now I order based on what is in a row with what I have...although that's not always fool-proof as Y14 looks so out of place anyway.

The B91 looks "grayish" on your chart, to me, also. What's up with not having a pure blue (pale version)?!
Yeah, and E04 is way off in that sequence (I have E00, 02, 04 myself)! ick!

Gals/Rusty,

if Oozak shows the markers Out of Stock, can you still order them and they be shipped (separately) when they come in or can you only order them when they show in stock?
