This is exactly what I was wondering. I can use coupons at my Dick Blick. I would be more than happy to support oozak or another online site with a coupon that worked on my Copic purchase. Is this possible??

Dody, if you go to the carpediemstore.com site to the sketch markers, they now have a chart at the top of the list that you can print off that shows all the colors. It's kind of tiny, but can give you a pretty good idea of the colors and shades.

We have one of those too I thought your guys were looking for a color chart that is filled in with actual marker ink. The chart we have is straight from the Japanese site. Actually we have 2 versions, a 1-pager and a 9-pager that you can put together that makes a really big color chart. Here are the links for the COPIC Color Charts(9click the one you want):

1 Pager
9-Pager
Warning, that 9-pager is 9 Megs

Question

Rusty,

Is there any chance that you will get the ABS1 system back in SOON so I can add it to my order?

I am just about ready to submit my order now.

Thanks!

I don't know. We have had them on order since Dec 29th. So, maybe by the end of the month.

Sorry

Thanks for the quick reply, Rusty!

I think if I wait that long, (LOL!) then the copics will be unavailable.

(Sigh) Guess I will have to place 2 orders!

Congrats Rusty!! Now that you are a *STAMPER*..LOL...Have you ever considered adding some stamping supplies to your stock? It would be awesome if you sold Memento Ink...oooohh...I have a lightbulb idea....

What if you offered a free Memento Ink pad with a purchase of like 20-25 markers?? Would this get around your MAP rules??

On the COLORING with Copics subject...as opposed to SHOPPING FOR Copics...

I did this the other day, and I am putting in another GinaK 120# CS plug...those stripes on the quilt would be nearly impossible with PTI because of the feathering issue. But on this CS it worked ok!

Yes....I do color more than I shop...ok maybe not...it's a wash...LOL

I just saw on the COPIC Japanese site that it looks like 12 new colors are being released:

BV0000 Pale Thistle
V0000 Rose Quartz
RV0000 Evening Primrose
R0000 Pink Beryl
YR0000 Pale Chiffon
Y0000 Yellow Fluorite
YG0000 Lily White (pale yellow-green flowers of white lily)
G0000 Crystal Opal
BG0000 Snow Green (scene color: green tinged with pale shadow of the snow)
B0000 Pale Celestine
C00 Cool Gray No.00
W00 Warm Gray No.00

Here's the link (use Google Translate unless you know japanese): http://www.too.com/copic/news/

OOOO NOOOOO, these were the exact colors I noticed were "missing" (some had the 4 0000's but most did not, and I love the pale pale colors!)

nice job! I have a hard time with the lighter colors, even the B00 (Frost Blue) is kind of bright to me! I have a hard time getting a nice shadow without either blending it completely out so it's not even noticeable, or having too strong of a line...sigh. Practice, right?

As for the GinaK not feathering...have you ever used the GP white? I thought Marianne said it feathers the least, and I have a hard time with it, even. So I am just curious if the GinaK feathers less than the GP for you...

I have a color question for you all:
Has anyone noticed the pale blues (Frost Blue B00, etc) are kind of greenish, almost turquoise?! I don't notice it until I put a colored image next to a primary blue, and then, POP, it's greenish looking. Is there another light blue that's more, well, BLUE? Like for a sky (but that would work with real blue papers)?
Or am I just crazy?

Default Two Wishes

This is apparently the retail display rack for Copics. Wish it were sold as a storage option for Copic users. (It was on the Japanese Copic website.)

Second- Wish Marianne would compile her blog entries into a book with chapters and index. I made an topic and color tip index to her blog entries, but the computer is in one room and the Copics are in another. A book to refer to would be great.

Thanks!

And yeah I think the GP feathers a lot more than the GinaK. For some things I prefer the feathering...and for some I don't. The first time I tried the GinaK I found it harder to color in the tiny places because the ink wouldn't just spread in there like it was on the other paper (GP & PTI). But after a little trial and error, I found that I really like it better because you have more control over where the ink goes, and it gives you better blending when it doesnt soak in so fast.

You are't crazy! I see almost no difference between BG000 and B000...both have an icy green tint.

I use B41 or B91 sometimes on sky areas...neither is quite light enough though so I don't do it often. B60 is very light but has a purplish-gray tinge.

I don't have B00...but was wondering if maybe it has less green?

Sorry, no book, but when my blog moves to the Copic site it will have greatly enhanced navigation and sub-pages, etc. A lot of people just print out the useful stuff and make their own binder to flip through.

Actually YES! They're massive binders and I think each time I see one "wow, I sure talk alot" then I feel bad about how much printer ink that had to use up, and how many trees gave their lives to help people color better...

Yeah I wouldn't think someone could just pick some useful info off of your blog...it's kind of ALL useful. And even when I think maybe it's not of use to me...I end up going back later trying to find it.

I save trees but lose my sanitiy trying to search...LOL

I was wondering if "Pale Blue" (B32) was light enough, but you mentioned "Powder Blue" (B 41) and it looks just as light on the screen and you said it wasn't light enough...
sigh

I was wondering if "Pale Blue" (B32) was light enough, but you mentioned "Powder Blue" (B 41) and it looks just as light on the screen and you said it wasn't light enough...
sigh
B32 is darker than 41 and 91...actually between the 3 of those...B91 is the lightest. It does look like sky blue color, but I find that if I am not fast about it, it leaves streaks, and as I try to get rid of them it gets too dark.

It might be great for sky with the airbrush...but I haven't done any sky since I got that new toy...LOL

Those racks are available and we have 20 of them on order. The selling price is going to be $39.99. They should be in a couple of weeks.

They hold 288 Sketch/Ciao in groups of 4, 216 Originals in groups of 3 or 144 Refill Inks in groups of 2. There is also a slot that can hold some accessories and the like.

Item number is going to be COPCSV-DISP.

I'm going to be right by Michael's on my way home tonight. If it's not raining, I'm going to have to check this out. I've got Gina K paper on order, and I just got some of the Papertrey White the other day. I'm going to do a comparison for myself and see which I like better.

Right now we have lowered our selling price to compete for business until we all have to sell at the same price. Basically we are going for volume, and I can tell you COPIC is not a high profit item at all - but in this economy...I'll take what I can get without giving it away.

AS for the new policy. Yes, our website is advertising. If the public can see it, it's advertising. If you read the PDF they really spell it out. Manufacturers care about the selling price so that they can get more placement. IE: A mom & pop retail store in the middle of nowhere wants to bring it in COPIC to sell. Nobody will shop there if they know they can get it online for way cheaper. if all stores have it at the same price, the have a better chance of serving their own area. The more stores that carry COPIC the more they sell.

Prices are really going up in March. COPIC USA is really coming down hard, almost to the poimt where they weren't going to allow ANY online sales at all. Imagine that.

Rusty
That would be like shooting themselves in the foot. The only other place I can buy them is from H.L., and they have very few colors.

Actually we have 2 versions, a 1-pager and a 9-pager that you can put together that makes a really big color chart. Here are the links for the COPIC Color Charts(9click the one you want):

1 Pager
9-Pager
Warning, that 9-pager is 9 Megs

Rusty @ Oozak
I'm going to have to print off the 1-Pager when I get home and compare. Firefox wouldn't let me open the 9-Pager, so I'll have to try that when I get home too.
