Question Quickutz or Sizzix?

I've been wanting to get a die cut machine to use
with my stamping. I've read tons about each machine
but I was just wondering if anyone had a opinion as to
which one they like better. Thanks

I have a sizzix and a wizard. I would go with either one of them. The sizzix and take larger size dies, and with the adaptor the sizzlets, and even quickcutz dies. Same of the wizard, you can use any vendors dies and you can emboss with it. Advantage to sizzix is that you can get it with a 40% off coupon at Michaels or Joann's. I paid full price for my wizard but love it.

I have the quickutz and love it. I struggled with the decision you are making, but really liked the quickutz alphabets better than the sizzix and liked that it was smaller so easier to take to crops. Luckily I found a local scrapbook store that discounts all of it, so it was worth paying a little extra. One nice think about quickutz is the smaller alphabets they have that are more reasonably priced. I just got one for only $48 (stilletto).

Not to confuse you but I just got a Zip-emate which will take Sizzix dies and Quikutz dies. It is made by Accucut and they have dies also. It's very easy to use and I really really like it. I paid $89 for it online.

I have both and love them both for different reasons! What do you want to do with the machines. The quickutz has tons of dies and lots of alphabets. The dies are 12.99 to 6.99 and the alphabets go anywhere from
$70 and up. But the choices are endless. The one thing I will say is they are no bigger than the die. The largest alphabet is 1 1/2 inches.

Where the Sizzix has 3 diffferent size dies, then the sizzlets dies, and embossing dies. Also you can buy converters and use other companies dies. The selection is large to the amount you can use and the sizes are very differerent.

That being said I have both and use both and could not pick between the 2. I love for different things. I love all the different dies with Quickutz but love the big alphabet with Sizzix. I use the alphabets a lot to scrapbook. I got my sizzix for a good price with a coupon at Michaels. Good luck

Quickutz is running a special on a new machine too. It comes with the machine and an alphabet for $119. I have seen them on ebay for less. The alphabet with the machine is a good deal!

I have the Sizzix Die cut machine.

I use the regular die cuts, sizzlits and quickutz. Sizzlits and quickkutz with the converter.

I like the sizzix because you can use the regular dies and sizzlits.

I have quickutz, my friend has sizzix, but we have had them for awhile. If I were making the decision today, I would purchase the Spellbinder Wizard (which is available at HSN with a small alphabet for $149- but you can probably get it for a better price using the coupon at Michaels)... that way you can purchase ANY of the dies or fonts that like from Sizzix, Quickutz, and Spellbinders.

I have both Quickutz and Sizzix & I like both--it just depends on what type of projects you are working on.

This may be a dumb question, but are you saying you use quickkutz dies in your sizzix machine?

To the OP - I have both and use both for different projects. I think the sizzix is easier to use and more versatile dies, but the QK is cheaper in the long run? Sorry - not much help.

I have the Wizard and Sizzix and love them both. The Wizard will cut almost any die, and the Sizzix will cut everything except the Wizard dies (the wizard is wider than any other machine).

It's confusing, but think of the machine separately from the company's dies. The quickutz cutter will ONLY work with the quickutz dies. The Sizzix/Wizard/ZipEMate can cut almost any die. This means that even though you bought this machine, you aren't limited to the company's dies. It gives you many more options.

I have a Sizzix and it's really great. The only complaint I have about it is that it is soooo heavy. But, if you don't plan to lug it around with you then I would definitely get the Sizzix. It has many more options in my opinion, Sizzlets, embossing dies, regular dies. I used the Quikutz a lot and the reason I decided not to get one is because my hand started hurting from having to press down on the handle. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but that was my opinion of it. Good luck with your decision!

Also, I don't know much about the machine made by Accucut, but my mom has the biggest Accucut machine you can get and IT IS GREAT! Maybe this would be the best way to go as you can use whatever brand (Quikutz, Sizzix, Accucut) dies you want. Lots more to choose from!

Thanks so much everyone for all of the information.
I think I am leaning toward the Sizzix. The size doesn't
matter so much because it will only be in my stamping
space, but I didn't realize you can use all of the other
dies with it. Thanks again. All of the info was really helpful.
Now it's time to start saving my pennies!!!

I have Quickutz and really like it - they have great fonts. I went with QK because it's portable and I do alot of scrapbooking and stamping out, so it's easy to take along. You can get much better deals on some of the other systems, but any of the portable ones came out after I already had my QK, so it's mine now!!

I had both until I bought a converter for my sizzix to use my quickutz dies. I got this on ebay for only a few dollars. I love it. Now I have the best of both worlds, the quickutz dies I love and the ease of cutting them with the sizzix.
