I have the creative memories - I have tried others - but think cm is by far the easiest. I have an extra one - new in package if you are interested. I used to sell it and someone ordered one, but never had the money to pay for it. You can pm me if you want to discuss a trade for something.

photo cutting systems out there
My daughter says creative memory is by far the best...I know many that have purchased the fiskars and did not like it so then purchased the Creative memory one... the cut is smooth and never rips... see if there is anyone close to you that has one so possibly you could try it before you decide...or look for a rep and ask her they are always generous about things like that...good luck
I don't think I could live without my Coluzzle. I use it constantly for cards, scrapbooking and my daughter's school projects. She's 9 and has been able to use the system for about 2 years so it's not hard to get the hang of. I have used the CM system at crops, but have not had much luck getting the hang of it. Probably because I don't have one to use all the time. Still my vote goes for the Coluzzle

cutting tools
I purchased the fiskars and I hate it-a total waste of my money. Sorry to have to say,but is the truth. I have been wondering what choice I should have made also, so will take the advice offered here too. Thanks.
I had a few other types of cutters before becoming a CM rep and part of the reason I signed with CM was because I loved their tools!
I have some customers who have tried that new cutter that looks like a pen and you just trace around a shape and it makes a perfect mat...but all three ended up putting it aside before long and going back to CM
BTW...April 1st, we'll have a new decorative trimmer that cuts swells and waves...if you are familiar with our discountinued 12" pattern for the custom cutting system, it has the same shapes but in a separate tool...I'll get mine in the new product to leader pack next week and can't wait to play with it!
I don;t have it but I can tell just by the design of it that the CM cutting system is by far the best out there. I plan to purchase it from a friend who sells CM the next time she needs extra sales for her minimum.....
Sometimes I think it is what you first use to what you like. I used CM and liked it then last year got SU's coluzzle and didn't really care for it. So my sister (CM consultant) gave me the cutting system for Xmas and I now have both. I also bought the CM trimmer from a consultant at work because that is easier on photos.
I had the coluzzle first. Never liked to use it, never cut very good. Then I went to a CM party and got their cutting system. I LOVE IT!!! I wished I had never wasted the money on the other. If I wasn't already selling SU!, I would probably sell CM.
Absolutely love the CM system. I have circles, ovals and the straight ruler. My coluzzle lives in "the box of misfit craft supplies". Absolutely HATE it! I am seriously thinking about the Fiskars "shape box" thingy. I've thrown out enough hints to hubby and sister so maybe I'll get it for my birthday!!!!
ITA - you can't beat Creative Memories cutting systems and I had Coluzzle before - which convinced me that scrapbooking was not for me because I hated them. I am getting out of CM sales now as well, and have extra mat & blades, the old 12-inch cutting systems (and the arabesque and antique blades that fit in them) and Ovals if anybody is interested in them, please PM me.
I have tried lots of cutting systems.............CM is the one for me.
Does anyone have any money to waste? I will sell you all of my other cutters.
I am an SU Demo and I wish I could sell the CM cutters.
I tried the fiskars first (could not get that thing to work well for me) and I have used the coluzzle and did not like that I had to go back and cut the tabs off.....
I Love my CM Cutting System - I have all the pieces and use them all the time - as well as the personal trimmer -

I have the CM system and love it! I was a consultant with CM until I signed up with SU, they won my heart over, but I love the CM cutting system, VERY easy to use!!!!
I have both systems. I found that I like using the CM system better for photographs because it is a complete cut, but I like the Coluzzle better for just cutting paper. Sounds strange I'm sure. But I find that I have to stand up and use good pressure on the CM system and that's fine. But if I'm just cutting cardstock or pattern paper, the Coluzzle works fine and I'm able stay seated at my table.
I have to say that I think the CM system is the best. I got the coluzzle through great rewards last year and it just never worked for me. I just find the CM system easier. I do remember that I did have a little difficulty with the CM system the first few times I used it but it didn't last long. I have the complete set and would not get rid of it.

Tried 'em all. CM all the way. The pain with the coluzzle is it doesn't cut all the way around the shape so you have to cut the remaining part free-hand. If I could cut straight free hand, I wouldn't need a cutting system!
If you haven't seen or used Creative Memories NEW 12" trimmer - you MUST check it out. It is by far the best trimmer I have used. I've used Coluzzle, the old CM 12" cutter, Fiskars and CM is the BEST!!! I also use their Personal Trimmer and that works fabulous as well. But for larger cuts - spend the $19 and get their new 12" trimmer.
My DH bought the fiskars cutting system for me. I tried so hard to like it, but it wasn't happening. He then purchased the CM system for me ( a friend suggested it to him) and I have never been happier. I even have limited use of my left hand, and still find it easy to use. Some of the coluzzle shapes are nice, but I don't like the way they don't cut all the way around.
For circles and ovals, I like the CM system, but for straight cuts I like the new fiskars trimmer that is sold in the SU catalog. They have improved the track so the cuts are much straighter. I like that you can get a scoring blade for it, and that you can use it to make frames out of your cardstock.
I looked at the new CM memories trimmer, and if it would have had a scoring blade, I may have considered it, but without one, I felt the Fiskars trimmer had one up on it.
ok, I have fiskars, and coluzzle, and have used CM lots (my best friend has it). and of the 3 I only really like my coluzzle. I got the Fiskars cuz it was the most affordable (especially with the 40% off coupon) and it was ok, but I always felt there must be something better out there. then I used CM at my friends house a lot! (we scrapbook together weekly, and it's easier to pack up if I don't have to bring a cutting system). then I became a demo, and got my Coluzzle. LOVE IT!! it's easy, accurate, and I almost never have problems with stuff moving while I'm cutting. (had that problem with the other 2 a lot more).
my best advice is to see if you can try them all out a bunch b-4 you buy one. you never know what one will work best for you.

I think the question is, what style of scrapbooking do you prefer? I never cut circles anymore, so I rarely cut out any shapes. My embellishments are all stamped and cut into tags or simple embellishment 'boxes' so to speak. I also don't like to overcrop my photos. I think it's distracting.
I do like the Coluzzle for the fact that there are lots of shapes like tags out there available in Coluzzle. The snipping doesn't bother me.
I have heard that CM make a great cutting system. If you cut lots of circles, then that might be the right choice for you.
BTW, is the new CM paper trimmer like the CutterPede? It looks a lot like it. I've heard good things about it.
I use two Fiskars paper trimmers, SU current Catalog one and a larger rotary with interchangeable blades. Like them both.
I agree with Vera. I think too many pictures cut into shapes is distracting. I prefer the Fiskars cutter if I need to crop something out of the picture & then the use the corner rounder on the corner of the photos. I don't think you should treat your photo's as embellishments and make them into hearts and such. The photos are the main part of your scrapbook page & should be the focus of your page.
i have the CM system the fiskars ball thingy, 2 fiskars strait edge with scoring blades.....and the colozzle, the fiskars ball things i can't get that thing for nothin' but my girlfriend swears by it, i love the fiskars strait cutters, both of them....and the ease of the CM ccs, but i have had my fill of circles and ovals, and hearts and diamonds all of them...lol so my coluzzle is choice 1 for now anyway...not much help...there is good and bad in all of them....the only thing i would really really suggest is that if you have a bad back that you stay away from the ccs, because the up and down is murderous!!
I really like my CM -surprised they're discontinuing the 12" but the new one
sounds good, too. It's easy to use. I use it probably more for paper (borders) and occassionally for a circle or oval photo. One photo shape on a page isn't too distracting. I got the fiskars 12" trimmer so I could do cardstock into notecards and score them. It doesn't always cut smoothly, and it's not an exact 90degrees at the top so my cards weren't straight. I want to try the cm 12" cutter that's just come out and see if it's better. I like that the arm swings out level (i think it'll be easier to measure) and it has more markings and is wider on the 'outside' of the cut for doing frames. I want to try some frame cutting within photos for accents. I'll still need my fiskars though for scoring.
(design note about photos and shapes: sometimes on kid's activity pages I have cut the pictures into not exact squares, kind of trapazoid or whatever those were called , and angled them around the page -- it's a VERY high energy look for certain events!)
I have the Creative Memories cutting system and I love it! I wouldn't trade it for anytheng! I think it is really easy to use too! I would recomend it to anyone!
