Question Clear Shrinky Dinks

Does anyone know where I can buy clear Shrinky Dinks? I have looked at my Joanns and Michaels, and neither one of them carries the clear. They have the frosted and white. Can I use the one for the computer? Is it clear?

Thanks for any help.

I think there is a special one that is for printer use. I don't know if just any clear shrink film can go through a printer. Of course, you could try with a small piece and see if it works.

Clarification...I don't need it for my printer, but wondered if I could stamp on the one made for the printer. M's has the printer one, but I didn't want to buy it if I can't stamp on it. Any one know???

Are you going to shrink it? I think the frosted is the kind you want. I use it, and when it shrinks down it is clear. I used it for these charms. . .

The plastic looks white in the picture because of the scan, but the stamped and colored image is actually showing through from the back side.

I tried the frosted kind, stamped on the frosted side, and shows it through white after I shrink it. The top is clear, but the frost shows through if that makes any sense. I looked at M's again today and the printer kind is also white. I'm trying not to order online-I hate to pay shipping for something so small, but I may just have to.

My favorite is from Lucky Squirrel - they have a store finder on their website here : http://www.luckysquirrel.com/findastore.html Maybe there will be something close to you. HTH!

My Joann's has clear, and it does say it can be used in a printer but I don't. I have also gotten it at AC Moore. The clear is tricker to stamp on because it is so slippery.

You're right. I looked at my charms again and they are still frosted on that one side. I guess I've never known that there is a clear plastic kind. I thought that frosted was the closest you could get. I wonder if you'd still have to at least lightly sand it so the ink will sit on it better? I'll have to look for it also. I have a Joann's close by, but no AC Moore in this area.

I bought mine directly from the company, because I just could not find them anywhere (this was over a year ago). I got the clear, frosted and printer shrinky dinks. I don't know if it's any cheaper, but it saves you from driving all over the place looking for them. And at $3-$4 a gallon, it sure would save you on gas. Calling around could work, but either they have no idea what your talking about, they don't know where to look for them, or they say they have them but it ends up not being the right kind. HTH
