I treated myself to a Color Caddy during this past Sell-a-bration. Just finished assembling it and I am NOT happy! :(
It is quite wobbly and doesn't turn well. It is quite bulky and takes up too much room on my crafting table. I really wanted one of those Napa Valley cassette raqcks instead, but they don't sell them on base over here, or on the Germany economy that I can find.
I have written to SU! to see if they will permit me to exchange it for some of their other fine merchandise that I love - stamp sets, inks, papers, etc., but I am not optimistic. If they do indeed say "no" I don't even think I can sell it on ebay or here since it is a current product (if I am mistaken - please let me know). My husband's commander did not grant me permission to sell over here, just to purchase for myself, so selling it at a yard sale isn't an option either. None of my customers back in the states are interested either.
If anyone knows of any other options I would welcome them. Either way, thanks for letting me vent. I know a lot of members are very happy with their color caddies, I wish I were one of them, but I am just not. Looks like this is going to be an expensive lesson for me Phooey!! :?
i have heard this about them also so i passed on getting one and went to a expo and found this one http://www.wistampingsupplies.com/index.php
i bit more expensive but well worth it i actually jsut bought another one for my craft pads too
I love my Color Caddy. It will turn easier after you've had it for a while. The wobbliness hasn't affected the usability of mine in any way - it has never tipped nor hasve any of the ink pads slid off of it. I would give it a chance!
I've had mine for a few years..it is definetly wobbly..I will give you that..but like the previous reply, mine has never turned over and I have no problem turning it. Its not as fluid as a lazy susan, but it still turns. Mine is not on my desk, but on a cabinet next to my desk so space isn't an issue for me.I don't see why SU wouldn't let you return it if you are dissatisfied.
SU will allow you to exchange, no problem! You can download an exchange form from the demo site, and just ship it back to them. You pay postage, and you will need to pick replacement product that is the same or higher value, as SU does not refund the difference. If you do go over, they also do not credit the additional price back to you as part of your sales, either.
I have two of the color caddy's and love them - I made sure tho to press down FIRMLY when screwing on the handle and they are both FULL (I have all the Classic and Craft pads) and not wobbly at all (they did seem wobbly tho before I put all the pads in - once it's full tho they seem to stabilize it).
They do NOT turn really easily but I'm fine with that - the pads aren't held real tight so I actually prefer that they don't spin easily otherwise the pads would prolly fall out!
You gals were RIGHT! SU IS letting me exchange it! I am so psyched!! I didn't think they would let me because I had assembled it, thus it wasn't "new", but they said "no problem". YES!!!!! I am so pleased with their customer service - they rock!! Now to pick out the replacement stuff...so much to choose from that I KNOW I like...stamp sets? paper? inks? hee hee hee..
Thanks for the support ladies. I cannot wait until I get back to the States; I plan to look for one of those Napa Valley wooden cassette racks - I hear those are great for holding the stamp pads, and since they can be mounted on the wall they don't take up any desk space at all.
Thanks again - you gals totally rock too!! Have a great day!
