I have a bugger of a time using some of my Marianne Dies. I have tried everything I think. It doesn't happen to all of them but one in particular Creatables -Flower and Leaves # 156.
I have tried wax paper, embossing buddy powder, candle wax and still the smallest leaves in this set tear when I try to release paper from the dies. I have tried using the metal shim and without it. I have tried shimming with just a paper shim and with a paper shim and the metal shim together. I have given up on it and discouraged me from attempting to use other MD. I have several Marianne dies that work but harder to use than my Cheery Lynn, PTI, Spellbinders, and Memory box. If someone out there has another idea I welcome your input.
I wonder if it is this particular die that has problems with defects.
Thanks
Some dies are just a pain in the neck! Maybe you have one.
Some more things to try:
1-Wipe die with dryer sheet.
2-Dust talcum powder on die before cutting.
3-Make sure die is centered on plates.
4-Run through three or more times.
5-Use different type paper.
(Oh, dear, I'm having a Gov. Perry moment; can't think of the sixth alternative to mention!)
Using a fine embossing tool to ease the die from the paper may be effective. Waxing the reverse side of the paper with tea light candle wax or other product before using the die can make it easier to remove.
I have a Marianne butterfly die and although it is beautiful it's way too difficult to remove from the die since it has no holes to poke through. A friend borrowed it yesterday and it took both of us a long time to get it out of the die. She had just tried some of my Memory Box dies and they came out on the first try. I've used wax paper with the Marianne die, it came out a little easier but still much harder than the Memory Box dies.

Tomorrow I will try those suggestions. Rick Perry. MMMM what a thought:rolleyes:
I looked at the site that you sent and I must be dense. I don't get how to use it. I am going to do a little more reading to see if I can understand what to do with the foam.
Thanks

That sounds like a great idea. I was rubbing wax on the die.

Have you ever seen a cuddlebug die, or a quickutz die..they already have ejector foam attached to it. It is a thin squishy foam that adheres to the die so the paper pops right out.
When you get the foam you put it on the die sticky side down and run it through your machine, you will be able to peel away the excess, so the foam just adheres to the die cut part of the die. since it adheres to the die , you can run the die through over and over and over using the same foam.

It makes sense to me and I am getting ready to buy some online. Thank you for your explanation.

I was having a problem with a MeriAnne die and I use a dryer sheet and no more
problems with it. I have others of hers and no problems. She does however put the poke out holes in all of her dies now. Some dies do have their peculiarities though.
