Question Ranger Wendy Vecchi Stay-tion-All-In-One Magnetic Surface

Does anyone have one of these? I saw it in a craft video and it looks interesting, especially for stencils, but reviews on Amazon are not all great. I trust this community to give honest opinions while Amazon seems to have so many reviews that appear paid.

I have the original large one.  I like it but if I had known the smaller 7" size was going to be available, I would have opted for thahttps://www.amazon.com/Wendy-Vecchi-MAKE-STAY-TION-INCH/dp/B083Q26N14/ref=sr_1_26?dchild=1&keywords=MAKE+ART+Stay-tion&qid=1600121609&sr=8-26t.

I have the larger one and really use it quite a bit.  I like it a lot for stenciling and sponging.  I probably use it the most for layouts when I'm not quite sure how I want things placed.  Somehow, being able to look at a card straight on instead of on a table works best for me.  There's enough magnets there to hold everything in place.

I use my lg original for layouts/placement...ok for sponging but stains...do not use anything other than water to clean it!

Does it hold up to cleaning? I saw many reviews saying that after a few cleanings the grid was coming off. I'm really interested in it for holding stencils so it would be cleaned frequently.

Another question - what is on the back of this? I have a glass covered desk and I don't want something that will slide on it.

Ranger/Wendy recommend using a craft sheet for "over flow" products.  https://rangerink.com/products/wendy-vecchi-make-art-stay-tion-craft-sheet-9x9

Nothing on the back.  You'd have to use an anti-slip method, shelf liner, glue, etc.

I just bought the larger one as it was just a couple of dollars more.  Seems to be a nicely made product and I love the bigger magnets and the centering ruler, which is also magnetized. I wanted it for the stenciling and getting things to line up centered and straight...something that just alludes me!  I have mine on the glass mat & doesn't seem to move around...but I really haven't used it that much...yet.

I bought the 7-in one and the small Waffle Flower mini watercolor mat at the same time. I like both for stenciling and probably use the watercolor mat a little more because I can spray the leftovers with water and reuse the ink to make a fun background. I haven’t had any issue with wear on the Staycation and it’s cleaned up fine with water.

I have both sizes. Love them for holding paper. I use the small one to flatten out card stock after I heat emboss; I use the magnets and the make art ruler.

Thank you all!  I just ordered one from Joann.com because with a 40% coupon the 12x12 is only $12. Works for me!  I'm hoping to be able to sit it on a lap table and use it to secure paper while I color images. The added bonus of it holding stencils in place. For $12 I'm no longer worried about the size or if it doesn't clean up well.  ;)
