Default Question about Heat and Stick Powder

Can someone explain this to me? What exactly do you use it for and how do you use it? I've read what it says in the catalog and I still don't get it. I'm a demo and I'm placing an order today and I have a customer who is very curious about it. She's thinking that the H&S might give you the effect of stamping in glitter instead of ink. So you'd have your image in glitter. She knows about the 2Way Glue and the Dazzling Diamonds, but she wants the glitter more precisely placed.

So let me know if I should order this stuff! <G> Do I need to do what it does? <G>

It works with bold stamps but not fine line, just use your VeraMark, apply H&S, heat with the heat tool, just until shiney, then put on the glitter.

I keep my H&S in a sandwich size plastic container. When you open your heat and stick put in a storage container and mash out the lumps before you use it.

Try it you will like it.

Yes - stamping in glitter is exactly what it looks like! If you stamp your image in a pigment ink (craft pad, or embossing ink), you quickly pour the heat and stick powder on that ink (the powder sticks to the pigment ink), and then use your heat gun on that. The heat and stick powder changes, to turn into a liquid-like glue. At that point, you pour on the glitter - and heat that. (Don't over heat, it might look scorched). The glitter covers the entire stamped image - it does not brush off easily, and it's beautiful when it's done. I love mine!

She can stamp in the 2-way glue by squirting a blob on a flat surface and spreading it a bit. Then stamp in the glue, stamp on the cs, and apply glitter. I find the Heat & Stick powder especially useful for applying gold leafing and flocking. I use the 2-way glue for glitter, though. But the H&SP would also be good with glitter. Just one of those personal preference things, I guess.

Another idea for a glitter effect is to use the hologram or irridesent ice embossing powder - I love these two, and they both have their own unique yet dazzling effect.

Thx Bonnie for posting this question! I got some Heat and Stick as a gift for Christmas and was at a loss on what to do with it! I really haven't seen it in many examples and the little instruction sheet that came with it is pretty basic! :? I am going to try some of the ideas that were posted to this thread!

I have also used my HSP to add foil to cards. However, THANK YOU lakegrandma for the tip on putting it in a plastic container. I haven't used mine in awhile and it was soooo lumpy....thought it was old and would have to get rid of it...and it didn't work too well. Will try that tip. TFS.
