Default Color schemes

Hello all...........I spend HOURS trying to pick out colors for my scrapbook pages/cards. Does anyone have any resources be it books/magazines or websites that might make this a less than daunting task that you find helpful. I appreciate any/all information.
Thanks in advance,
Donna

I bought a book named The Cardmaker's Workbook.

She goes over the basics of color theory and even throws in some firm examples.

I have also run across web sites that have a randomized color wheel.
Color Wheel - Random Color Scheme Generator - Colors on the Web

this one is pretty fun.

I can get overwhelmed with the whole matching colors, patterns, textures and decorative cuts. The book helped me figure that stuff out a bit better.

I don't know if you'd like to try this out, but here's what I do: I pick a sheet or scrap of patterned paper which I want to use in my page, and from the colors in it is how I pick out other patterned papers and the card stock colors for matting and adding accents. It's way easier, because usually colors in a sheet of pattern paper will not clash.

There are quite a few challenge blogs that do weekly or bi-weekly color challenges. Here are some to help you out:

Color Cue
colourQ
Color Throwdown
Embellish Magazine (usually paired with another challenge)

I sometimes use kuler. They have more color combinations than one can think of and the combos are very fresh! Most of the combos have 5 colors but I don't generally want to use 5 colors on my card so I just pick say 3 from a combo.

I use Color Schemer when I need help. Their website has thousands of schemes uploaded that I've used to co-ordinate my colours for scrapbook pages. They have some beautiful combinations. I usually choose colours in my stash that are as close to the colours as I have.

Default thanks

Thanks to everyone for such great resources. I will be sure to check them all out. Hopefully I will get the hang of the color choice process and be able to spend more time scrapping and less time choosing.
