Which SU white ink makes a clearer, crisper, brighter image...?
I see they have the White (opaque) StazOn and their whisper White Craft ink pad...which one makes a clearer, crisper, WHITE image...?
I just remember when the opaque white StazOn came out yrs ago ppl had said it did not make a very bright white image and most peeps had used it for transparencies and the like...
So which one makes a better white image....?
thx!!!
To get a crisp white image, the best bet is stamp in white craft ink or versamark then heat emboss with white powder. That is the most opaque look. Craft ink alone gives a more frosty white look, less opaque.

I've tried a lot of different white inks and I found that if you don't want to have to emboss, then the white Studio G ink is works the best. I have a product review about the Studio G inks on my blog with some pictures of how the white ink looks on dark cardstock if you're interested in taking a look:Cat Scrap Fever: A Couple Cards & a Product Review
Cat, thanks for the product review and especially the picture of what to look for! I haven't stamped much and I don't have any white. I'll try it if I can find it.
I know you're asking about SU, but over the years there have been several threads asking about good whites, and the SU whites don't ever get rated very highly; so I'd agree with lutheran that using EP is the best option for SU only. But I hate using white EP, LOL, and admire anyone who does.
I prefer SU's white ink pad, at least when it's well-inked. I keep a refill on hand and use it regularly to keep it juicy. It takes an incredibly light touch to get it right, but it gives the brightest, crispest white of all the chalk and pigment inks I've tried (Brilliance, Colorbox, Stazon, Versamagic, etc). If you press on your stamp into the paper too firmly, you'll squish the ink right off your image and end up with a more transparent look. Embossing powder is the way to go for a bold white, but a light hand helped me make this card without it. I hope that helps you make the most of your white ink, no matter which one you choose!

TY...some great info there!!!
I am leaning towards an ink that SU sells for the SUO card swaps that I do, but the other replies will sure help when I need a general white ink for other projects!!!
And yes, white embossing to me sure looks pretty, but the card I have in mind I want a flat image, not a slightly raised up/embossed one...hope that makes sense...and I completely agree with the ones who say sometimes embossing can be hit and miss, plus I really do not feel like embossing 10 cards in case a couple come out as duds and I would need to do them over again......but it sure is a pretty effect!!! (Guess I should have given more info as to why I wanted to use it...:p )

Oh, my gosh!!!! Studio G ink is good? That's wonderful! I've always wondered and at $1.00 I guess I could have tried it out! I've always wondered! THANKS! I just got a white re-inker for my SU pad. I've had it years and I've finally just now had to re-ink it. I really like SU white craft. I've always been happy with it. Thanks again!
