Default Silhouette Original and Cameo/Portrait Question

I was reading Silhouette School this morning and she said the Cameo will not cut the cutting board plastic a lot of us buy from Dollar Tree.

A couple of years ago I made some book-marks, mostly straight or slightly curved lines, with my old Original Silhouette using the cutting board plastic. In a couple of spots I had to use the craft knife to finish the cut but it did a fairly good job with the regular blade.

I received my Cameo on Saturday and havent used it yet, if I start I'll never get these C'mas cards finished, have any of you been successful cutting the plastic with the Portrait or Cameo?
