I am making a memory book. I bought a cover and back page that are like heavy chip board. There are four holes with eyelets (one in each corner) and two of them have rings for adding more pages. I have cut cardboard (ceral boxes)to the same size, (will cover with scrap book paper) as the cover. I want to make holes on one side of the carboard, to put the rings through. The holes with eyelets on the cover I purchased, are about a 1/4 in. Would the cropadile be a good investment to set the eyelets. Would it set eyelets about 1/4 in across? Can you buy eyelets that big? Would I need to buy a paper punch too? Would it punch cardboard (ceral box thickness)?
As I have never used a cropadile and have only set small eyelets with an hammer and any where punch, any help or ideas on how to make the holes and set larger size eylets are very welcome.
I think the size you're talking about might be 3/16. That and the 1/8 were the most common sizes a few years ago. Now there are some really big ones out there, Making Memories (I think) was the first.
The cropodile will set all of them, you just need to make sure and follow the directions. I'm told once you get the hang of it, you'll love it.
It also cuts through chipboard with ease.
The cropadile will punch through just about anything! I was punching through clothing catalogs when I first got mine! And hubby borrowed it to punch extra holes in his leather belt. You won't be sorry you bought it.
I love the punches on my Cropadile. It goes through tin, chipboard and plastic like butter. The only negative thing I can say about it is that you can only set eyelets that are close to the side of your page.
To set anything more than 1/2 " in you still need an anywhere punch and setting kit.
Thanks everyone. It sounds like what I need is a cropadile. I am off to find one tonight. Does anyone know if Micheals sells them. I would like to hopefully use a coupon to save a few $$$.

I bought one today at Michael's with my 50% off coupon. It was only $14 after the coupon!
I love my crop a dile also, I have found that it will squish the soft eyelets if I'm not very careful with it. I don't use the Stampin Up eyelets with it they are just to soft.
