Default Which Prismacolour set do you buy?

The Premier are some of the best......I haven't seen the Scholar ones in person. The prismacolor website says that they are good for students and crafters. I wonder if the lead it as thick or the color as saturated.

The scholar set is a cheaper grade. Go for the better set... it has more pigment and less binder.

Not sure if they have AC Moore in Canada.

If all you can afford is the student grade scholar set, then they will probably do you good enough for colouring cards. I am a professional artist working with coloured pencils, and still occasionally will grab the kids scholars if I am out of a certain colour in the premier line and can find a match, i live 40 minutes from my closest art supply store. They are a harder lead and carry less pigment but certainly still a good quality pencil compared to cheaper brands.

...I don't know where you are in Ontario Peggy, Curry's is back online finally and have some nice gift sets of premier. If you are in the SW ON area go to Bijan's in London, their prismacolours are on sale for December and have the best prices of any store I have been in, in Ontario. The scholar set is usually available at Staples at a good price.

Default Prismacolor Pencils

Since ebay has tons of the Premier's, i.e., a set of 12 for $4.00, it makes better since to buy the best first. More pigment, less binding in the Premiers. You won't regret the investment.
