I've used my BIA a lot, but yesterday when I was binding my SU catalog, that little pin that has the arrow on it that points to the ABCD settings popped out. I was able to retrieve the ball bearing and the spring and reassemble it, but the pin keeps popping out. It still works fine, but the little lever doesn't click into place anymore.
I think I remember reading that one or two of you had something go wrong with your BIA. What did you do? I bought mine from Bonnie's Best.. do I contact her? Or Zutter?
Unfortunately I JUST threw out the box it came in because I'm anticipating getting the cute little tote for it. Figures, right?
Right after I posted this here, I sent an email to the Bind It All people, and got a quick reply. They said they understood exactly what the problem is, and that they would send me a replacement part and instructions on how to replace it.
I did get the replacement part to fix my Bind It All. Cause mine was one of the first ones sold the part was made of plastic. The replacement part is made of metal - came with instructions to replace broken part and says that now I am a certified Bind It All repair person!!
I have made 4 recipe books and had no problems. Well the only problem I have is not enough time for all the ideas running thru my head. Gotta do something about that day job I have.
When I first got mine, the little knob to adjust the crimping part broke. It was kind of my fault, since I left the little keychain thingy on when I was turning the knob. I contacted the company and they sent out a replacement part right away. What was really neat was they sent a package of goodies, as a we're sorry/thank-you-for-fixing-it-yourself gift. It was a box with one of each of their covers and inside pages, in all sizes and colors. When I added it up, it would have cost me over $30 retail. All that for unscrewing a knob and screwing a new one on. They really do have GREAT customer service!
