Question Embossing machine for Explore owner?

My first post, be gentle please. ;)

I own a Cricut Explore (my first ever cutting machine), and am getting into card making now. I'd like to get an embosser, but as you could probably guess, I don't care about doing diecutting with it.

I've had a number of people in a FB craft group I'm in recommend the Big Shot, but I'm wondering if it's overkill. I'd prefer not to get a Cuttlebug, because although I am enjoying my Cricut (when DS works, grr!) I have not been that impressed with PC as a company.

Thoughts?

I started off with a Sizzix Texture Boutique. They are really inexpensive. You can use a coupon at any of the craft stores and get one for less than $20. They only emboss, however, which was fine for me at the time, because like you, I had a Cricut and didn't think I wanted a die cutter. Then I saw some great looking dies a little before Christmas, a few years ago, and mentioned to my hubby that I would kind of like to try a Big Shot. Well, guess what he got me for Christmas? I really love my Big Shot and rarely use the Cricut anymore and I sold my Texture Boutique.
