Default Big Shot Questions

Ok - bought the Big Shot and love it!!! And ordered more embossing folders, etc. My questions,
1. How do you emboss on a whole card itself, not cs you will layer on the card? Maybe just one little image in the middle of the card.
2. How do you cut a window in the whole card with the Big Shot?
3. What are the empty plastic embossing folders for?
I must say, everyone's tips and advice on this board were extremely helpful. It really helped to read all the info and answers to questions I hadn't even thought of yet. Thank all you ladies soooo much. Not to mention the fact that I end up spending money after I've visited this forum! I LOVE IT!!!!

the empty folders you need in order for the emboss to work. U put ur paper inside the plate close it and then slip it inside the empty folder and pass it thru the machine. As for embossing on the entire card you need to buy the big shot big impressions. I believe it's the whole plate. Cutting the window again you will need the die cut for that. Just go to www.ellisondesign.com and you can find all the info there. The Big Shot is AWESOME, I LOVE IT!!! Congratulations on ur great buy!!! HTH

I'm more than sure there's tons of other ways but I use it this way. Also I've heard that Friskars has some plates that you can use for background on ur cards.

If you go to the Ellison Design website (I think it's ellisondesign.com), do a search for Big Impressions starter kit.

I bought some templates from JoAnn because they were on sale and that's how I discovered it. Then I discovered you need the starter kit to be able to use the templates. JoAnns doesn't sell the starter kit. I got mine from Archivers.

The starter kit came with 3 templates (I think there were three) both sides have designs (I LOVE the paisly design!), a flat black platform and a rubber piece that goes on top of the template and card when you run through the BigShot. I only used it once so far. I can't find the instructions or I'd list more info.

I just checked and could not find the starter kit at JoAnns online store. I bought mine in Dec. a few days before Christmas. When I was searching then, I couldn't find it anywhere but at Ellisondesign.com and our Archivers store. Even Michaels didn't carry the starter kit. Here is a link to Ellison Design: http://www.ellisondesign.com/default...fZoqbm0VnaPhgg.

It's possible that more places are carrying it now, but these were the only 2 places I found the starter kit in December, after days of searching.

Sorry

http://www.joanns.com/catalog.jhtml;$sessionid$EBFCDOYAAEKLWP4SY5NBIHR50 LD3OEPO?CATID=123082&PRODID=178002

I have no clue if you can get there via this or not...if not, let me know and I will lead you into it like I found it.

I bought my Big Impression Starter Kit or BISK at www.paperdreamsstore.com
they had it in stock just after Christmas. They have great service and they don't charge extra shipping on back orders. You can even call and ask if the items you are ordering are in stock. I also bought the Multipurpose platform or the MPP. It helps with all the combinations to emboss and use other companies' dies in the Big Shot. Go to the www.ellisondesign.com and learn and then shop elsewhere for things you want on sale! I think that the Ellison designs will start having specials soon like www.sizzix.com . The Big Kick for Sizzix is just like the Big Shot but a different color. You could also buy the BISK and MPP form Sizzix and it will fit in your Big Shot! Good Luck!
