Default Big Shot? Big Kick?

Are these two machines exactly the same? I was at my local Michael's this weekend and they have the red and white Big Kick. I really want a Big Shot and had my eye on the Black and Pink one, but with a 50% off coupon, the Big Kick is quite a bit cheaper and I'm debating with myself whether I go for color or price.

Just want to confirm that they are the same machine before I proceed.

Exactly the same machine. Go for price and buy some more stamps...or inks...or...?

I have the Big Kick myself. You won't be sorry.

Default One little difference ...

I learned on another thread here on SCS that there is one difference between the Big Kick and Big Shot: The "bed" on which the sandwiches travel is flat all the way through on the Big Shot; on the Big Kick, the sandwich is supported on both sides, but the area under the sandwich is hollowed out. This mattered to that poster because she stored things on the full flat surface.

I have a Big Kick and enjoy it immensely. Now, if I could just figure out where to buy time to use it, I'd be happy.

I was looking on the Sizzix website and I noticed the dimensions on the two machines are different. I wonder why? I have a gift card to M's and I think I will get a Big Kick....I sure hope it is the same as the Big Shot since that was what was originally on my list.

They are the same machine, just some cosmetic differences. They work the same, take the same dies, etc. If you call Sizzix customer service, you'll be told the same thing. Sizzix CS is fabulous, BTW.
