Default Natural light lamps: recommendations?

What brand of lamp would you recommend for a work area? Right now, my "stamping area" is the dining room so it would have to something portable.

I've heard of the Ott Lites and I know Sharper Image has their own version, but I would like to hear some personal recommendations (or warnings) from the folks that are "in the know"!

Thanks for your help!

I ordered 2 Tensor Natural light lamps from QVC last week, a 6' floor lamp, and the table lamp thatlooks like the square Ott Lite. I cant wait to get them, and the price on the 6' lamp was about $65.

I have the Ott Floor lite that my mother got me for a birthday gift a couple years ago.... I really like it. I also have one of the little clip on ones that I can take with me. I just replaced the bulbs in my ceiling fan in the craft room with the Reveal Bulbs and it seems to make a difference too. You might look at using those for your general room lighting.

I have two of the Daylight brand lamps. One clip-on and one desktop. They are similar to Ott-Lite's, but cost less. I've had one of these lamps for over a year on my painting worktable and I'm still on the same bulb with no problems.

Joann's had their lamps on sale last month for 1/2 price - not sure if it's still being offered - but they do have their 40% off coupons!

I have the Ott-lite model that's about 10 inches tall (closed up) and it sits on my craft table. I love it! It has an arm that swings up so I can re-position the light easily. I got it with a coupon at JoAnns about 2 years ago. I would definiately recommend it.

I replaced the bulbs in my overhead light with Reveal bulbs. You can also buy full spectrum bulbs which are great. My craft room also has one of those Ott craft lights...which I bought on Joann.com using a coupon. They are awesome! After my experience with the Ott, I purchased 2 Ott floor lamps for our living room. They are so easy on the eyes.

You can also buy Ott brand flourescent bulbs that fit in regular light sockets. They are about $30, so I can't go crazy, but I have one in a lamp by my craft table

I have the tabletop Ott lamp and really like it. I have coupled it with a regular clamp on light with a reveal light in it. Sometimes I find that the Ott light (although a good light) isn't as bright as I would like and coupling it with another light works super. I purchased mine from a local stamp store before Joann's carried them. I purchased a replacement bulb from JoAnn's last year....the bulb has a tendency to go a little dim when it starts to die.
