Default Big Shot and Sidekick?

Wondering if anyone having these two machines has tired to die cut felt that has adhesive on the back? I tried to do this with my Sidekick with the Sizzlets and there was no way it would cut the die. Then I tried the Sizzlets in the Big Shot, it wouldnt cut them either. I even ran it back and forth in the machine like 10 times...still wouldnt cut it.

The Big Shot did cut through the felt as long as I used the big die cuts.

Both machines cut through Fun Foam though and it had adhesive on the back....I dont get it.

I'm not sure either about the fun foam.

However, sizzlets are designed to only cut paper & cardstock. The thick cuts or original Sizzix dies can cut through many things including fabric & chipboard.

I don't know if this would help, but try flipping the material over.

Example, if you had the paper against the blade, try it with the material against the blade and vice-versa.

If you try it, let us know if it worked.

You need 'steel rule' dies to cut through certain materials, which the Sizzix Originals, Bigz and Ellison Thick Cuts dies are. Sizzlets will cut through funky foam OK though.

Have you any Cuttlebug dies to try? I'm sure they'd work - they go through thick chipboard OK. Those CB scalloped flower dies cut in felt would be cute I think!

Ok, I tried the cuttlebug die and it worked in the big shot and cut through the felt....guess I need to buy more cuttlebug dies. Thanks for suggesting using a cuttlebug die. Worked like a charm...
