I am THE WORST at deciding. Backing up ... I am THE WORST at figuring out best prices and THEN deciding.
If you bought an ATG tape gun (and tape) in the last 15 days ... where did you get it? Do you have the product numbers still?
Why did you decide on THIS one and not a cheaper one (or a more pricey one)?
HELP ME.
Summary: Want product numbers (and price) of the best deal you found on an ATG gun with maybe 12 rolls of tape. Would like the tape to be suitable for cards and scrapbooks.
I have both the 3M 714 and the generic ATG 50. I am right handed and prefer the 714. The tape lies on the left side of the front roller so I can see exactly where the tape is being placed on my paper. The tape on the ATG 50lies on the right side of the front roller and makes it difficult for me to see where I am placing the tape. I use the tape from The Tape Depot so it's has nothing to do with the actual tape just the way it 'feeds' off the front roller. I had the 714 first but was one of the customers that got a defective one. Bought the ATG 50 from The Tape Depot as a replacement. 3M has since replaced my defective ATG so that is the one I use now. I know other people swear by the ATG 50 but I am only stating my preference and reason.
I know what you mean about eyes spinning.
I DID buy an ATG 714 about a week ago--it's my second one. I dropped the first one and the cover broke off--it's still usable, but I decided to have it as a back-up to take places and get another. I bought mine from framingsupplies.com just because that's where I bought my first one. I think their price is about middle-of-the-road, but I didn't have the time to do an exhaustive search. I bought tape from framingsupplies.com also, and from the Tape Depot off of ebay. Tape Depot is Waaaay cheaper than the 3M tape; I suggest you get some rolls from each and see if there is one that you prefer over the other.
ATG714 from framingsupplies.com....... excellent service shipped within an hour of my phone call ~ I used the 800 on the website
ATG700 from amazon.com ~ great service as always ~ they had a special.......
I love them both........ not as much as i love my glue glider, but the glue glider was costing me 2 much in refills, I had to change....I was using one a week and it was going to cost me over $250 dollars a year to use the glue glider in refills alone
Bought both guns and tons of tape for less than that and i am good to go for a long time
I have the ATG714, too and love love love it! It was a birthday present from some wonderful friends But I do buy the refills here: http://www.thetapedepot.com/cart/index.php 12 rolls are $23.40 for the 1/4" refills. HTH! :-D
I'd like an ATG gun too... just a good one that isn't too pricey and basic. I am sick of buying adhesive!
I hear you! It gets costly!
Also, FYI .... someone shared this link with me. I buy the 24 at a time and it comes out to 50.40 and shipping is free becuase it's over $50.00. Which makes them $2.10 per refill! http://new.penwa.com/products/TW_621...e-10996-0

Tombow Adhesive from Penwa - I got this just a couple weeks ago.. They have a 30 pack for 54.33 (ended up being 1.81 each). No shipping if over $50. My CTMH Demo also orders from Penwa.
But even with that price, I still think ATG is better way to go. I'll be looking around for one in a few weeks, after I recoup the $$ from a week at the Ocean.
