Question Attention Cricut owners....

I am having a hoorible time trying to cut SU cardstock with my Cricut...I have the needle at the lowest setting, and it still won't cut through. Any suggestions? I have only used it about three times, so I know the needle is still sharp. TIA!

Highest speed, deepest setting....that's all I've heard for the SU cardstock. Most people seem to have no trouble with that. Other than that..... I don't know. Good luck!

I just got my Cricut yesterday and haven't had a problem with the cartridge it came with. However, I am having a hard time getting nice cuts with my mini monograms and SU cardstock. I think because the cardstock is thicker, it may have trouble making nice clean cuts. I have my blade at 6.

Also, I installed my cutting blade wrong the first time, are you sure it's in the holder properly?

Good luck.

Check the Cricut documentation - it might state something about preferred poundage (is that really a word?) for cardstock that it can cut through - I know SU cardstock is pretty thick in comparison - keep in mind that this thing was probably tested with provocraft paper or similar cheap store paper...

My mom has one and hers refuses to cut thru SU cardstock. She is not too happy with it!

Ok, I just played with it some more. Check Page 15 in the user manuel. For my mini monograms I'm considering those detailed cuts. SU cardstock is thick. I set the pressure to 5 and the speed to low and I got much better results. I really think you need to adjust all those dials depending on what you are cutting and on what paper.

hmmm...I've cut SU and Bazzil cardstock with mine without trouble. You do need to have the two dials on the left dialed all the way to the top (highest setting). The lower the dial setting, the thinner the paper that you are cutting.
If that doesn't help, you may need to adjust the tension on your blade. I haven't had to adjust mine--but it is possible that you need more tension.
If you are still having trouble, you should try contacting Provo Craft. They have an excellent customer service department.

Thanks for all the responses...I forgot the pressure dial on the left! I changed it to high pressure and it worked. Whew! Thought I was gonna have to only use cheap paper!
Anyway, thanks again to everyone who responded!

For the SU cardstock, you have to have both settings on 5.
