Anyone use Tack 'N Peel for unmounteds?
 

How did you like it? I'm thinking of using this instead of Aleene's Tack it over and over and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it?

I love Tack N Peel!
 

I use it ALL the time and it is really wonderful.. The downside is that you don't get a huge piece of it (maybe 5*7), the UPSIDE is that it sticks to your blocks, you never have to take it off and once it becomes "untacky" (Is that a word?) you wet it, let it airdry and Presto! Sticky again

So, does it go on the block instead of the rubber/foam? Do you use the foam? or not? How does this differ from EZCling or TIO&O on the foam mount?

it sticks directly to the acrylic block. You cut it to the size of the acrylic block.. there is a permanent tacky side that you stick to the block and the side that faces up is the tacky side. You stick your stamp on there and stamp away. When done with the stamp, you peel the stamp off and put it away and then you should keep the tacky side covered.. either with a baggie that sticks right on it or the original piece that you cut to cover it up and keep it tacky longer..

Oh my gosh, are you the gal I just ordered the adorable Bella stamps from online? I was searching for info on using unmounted stamps, and what are the chances that here you are! Too cool!

I will for sure have to find some of that stuff for my new stamps.

you can order it from my site .. I don't think the biggies have it yet (michaels, ac moore Joanns).. they may but I am not sure.. you are more likely to find it at your LSS.. I love that stuff.. but really you can also use plain ole' double sided tape (i used the red super tacky wacky tape?).. that's what I used before I got this magic stuff.. the one thing I like about T&P is that it has a little teeny weeny bit of cushion which makes the stamping process a wee bit cushier.. that's all

I'm a big fan of the Tack 'n' Peel! Since I have several duplicate sizes of acrylic blocks, I've dedicated certain sizes/blocks to have TNP on there all of the time. It works great on my unmounteds!

Thanks to everyone who has replied. I just have one more question - if you're using the Tack 'N Peel, then how are you storing your rubber stamps? I usually use Aleene's TIOAO and then store my rubber in CD cases. If I switch over to Tack 'N Peel (and I'm thinking I really want to), I don't know how I'd store my stamps. I love the CD cases but the rubber wouldn't stick on them anymore. How do y'all store them?

I just slip 'em in sport card pockets and put them in a binder! I can fit 200 stamps in that little baby.

Hi Emily,

You seem to know a lot about the Tack n Peel. I just learned about it tonight, and I am slightly hopeful this will be an answer to my prayers.

About 2 years ago, I went through the painstaking task of unmounting all of my stamps, including the SU ones. I went down to bare rubber, which took a lot of time, trial and error. I have never regretted it once. I do not want anything on my rubber, including foam, cling, glue, tape, NOTHING! I use acrylic blocks to stamp with, and have Scotch double sided tape on the block, not the stamp. Works great. I replace the cushion by stamping on top of a mouse pad. I have found this to work great.

My only problem is storage. I went through many ways to store them, and right now have them in 3 ring binders, which is what I want to continue on with. I have some Scotch foam mounting tabs that I adhere to rigid plastic sheets. Then I just stick the rubber stamp to the foam sticky tab, and that's that. I found the the Aleene's made a huge mess, double sided tape eventually either permanently ends up sticking to my rubber stamp, or it will not hold the stamp in the binder, etc. So the foam mounting tabs have worked the best so far. But with time, the problem is that they start to fall apart. (Sorry I'm so long winded here!)

Question: Do you think the Tack n Peel could replace my foam mounting tabs in the 3 ring binder? The way I would hope to use it is to cut a very small piece (maybe 1/2" square) and adhere the permanent side to my rigid plastic sheet in the binder, then stick the rubber stamp to the "cling" side for storage. I thought I saw on the manufacturer's website that you could use scraps of the Tack n Peel to store the stamps in CD cases, so in my mind, this would be the same type of thing except I'm not using CD cases. I'm using rigid plastic sheets.

I would very much appreciate your input, as you seem to know a lot about this stuff. I would love to be able to get a sample to see how it would work long-term. I did write the manufacturer to see if they would send me a sample, but don't know if they will or not. Since I would be using it in this way, it would take quite a bit more than if I were just putting it on the blocks (I have a LOT of stamps!). I would want to test it first before I bought a bunch.

Storage is a challenge when the UMs are not "sticky." I think the Tack N Peel will stick to your plastic sheets -- it is very sticky. (It is likely to be a costly project.) If you bought one sheet of TnP to experiment and didn't like it, you would could put it on your acrylic blocks (particularly, if you only use one square in experimenting). I bet you would love it! I think this is the only downside to Tack N Peel. I have been putting the plain rubber dies in CD cases and so far nothing has fallen out.

You can't see through the Tack N Peel, can you?

Cathy you can see both red rubber and gray rubber like the Bellas very clearly thru the Tack N Peel (and you shouldn't use it with acrylics -- I just put those on the other side of the block or a different block). Love the TnP!

OK. I've gotta get some. Sounds awesome. I wonder why you can't use them with acrylic stamps? I don't have many, but still, I wonder ...
