I just went and punched the EK Success punch and compared it to the heart punch shape and they are not the same. I put it over the heart in the hostess set "A Little Somethin'" and it is just a little too small. You would get some of the outline around the heart but not all of it. I hope this helps.
The PTI punches and all the ones that most of us bought for the shapes and scallopes are MARVY...EK Success is a different lot, Martha Stewart are by EK... and most of the SU punches are by Paper Shaper...hope this helps...

The new Heart Prints set does use an EK Success punch. Nichole said she liked the shape of the EK Success punch better for this particular stamp set. You are right though: the Borders & Corners set coordinates with a Marvy Punch.

Lizzie is right on. The Borders and Corners shapes coordinate with Marvy punches and the Heart Prints set coordinates with two of the EK Success heart punches.

Okay, so is the large EK Success heart punch that PTI sells to coordinate with the Heart Prints set the same one as SU's new heart punch?
See, that's why I haven't ever bought a heart punch. A circle is ALWAYS a circle, a square is ALWAYS a square, but hearts very so much in shape (wider, skinnier, flatter, rounded) that it just makes me crazy. I know, I'm way too **** about all of this....
I highly doubt that the Large Heart SU Punch is exactly the same as the PTI Heart Punch.
SU has never sold a large punch that is an identical size match to any of the EK Success Punches sold anywhere else. For instance, their Scalloped Circle and Scalloped Square punches are not sold anywhere else, but there are about 3 of each shape in different sizes (larger and smaller) that EK sells at many places (Archivers, Joann.com...etc).
PTI is still a fairly small company and I doubt they can afford to buy excusive rights to a size sold by EK Success, nor would EK Success be at liberty to sell an SU exclusive punch to PTI.
They may nest perfectly though...like the Scallop Punches do! So...if anyone has both...a pic would be great!

Okay, ladies, let me see if I can attach a couple photos. I did as suggested and layered the punched image over the image in the catalog. They are not the exact same. The SU punch is slightly wider across the top and narrower on the bottom than the punched image. Hopefully, you will be able to see in the photo what I mean. Then, the second photo shows the stamped image in the SU heart punch. I trimmed the heart to show how the stamped image itself would look in the SU heart. It's definitely not a perfect fit. The border would be uneven with it wider across the top and hardly any border at the bottom.
Hope this helps!

Thank you! So basically we learn:
We need both punches and both stamp sets.
Wow...not like we usually come out of a thread SAVING money...LOL

Kim
Since the shape of the punch in the catty is the exact same shape as what the punch will punch out, I think that Kim already answered the question by punching out the EK Success punch and comparing it to the shape in the catty. At least, that's what it sounded like to me, but I've been known to be wrong. ;-) Anyway, thanks Kim for the quick reply...I appreciate knowing that since I don't have either punch. YET! Jan
p.s. just scrolled further down and saw the great photo display from Niki, definitely helpful!
thanks for the great illustration. I've been pondering which to get myself..too bad they don't layer. I really enjoy layering my punch shapes. Do the 2 PTI ones layer?? I need to go shop there................who needs to put on dinner...this place is dangerous (in a good way tee hee)
ok...so if we buy the PTI stamps can we get the matching punches any where with a coupon?
I bought the larger PTI punch at Joanns when it was on sale and there was free shipping...it was only $8 or so, I believe. I've also read on the PTI forum that Archiver's carries the punches. Good luck!
