Default Tonic Paper cutter - using it left handed

I have been thinking about getting a new paper cutter (thanks to all the enablers on SCS). I have been looking at the Tonic guillotine cutter since everyone raves about it and it gives straight cuts. This may sound silly, but I am left handed and this cutter is made to be used by right handed people - the arm is on the right side. Anyone out there who is left handed and has one of these? Do you find it easy to use? I know this is probably an odd question, but since I know how I work as a lefty, I am afraid of getting this thing and not liking it.

I don't have the tonic, but I have the SU guillotine cutter and I am 'do everything' LEFT HANDED. I haven't had any problems with it. In fact, I like it that way because I have complete control of the measuring/paper side with my left hand that is so much more coordinated than my right. Hopes this helps.

Thanks ladies. I am a 'do everything" leftie also. When I started looking at the tonic cutter I noticed the handle on the right and just wondered if it would totally "backward" for me. I know I use my current cutter opposite of how right handed people use theirs, which you can do with a slide type cutter. Can't do that with a guillotine arm. I am off to shop....

Thank you, Martha, for asking about this! I'm a *South Paw* too and have been wondering how much hate & discontent would arise when using it. ;) I may ask for it for my B'day. I have a Fiskars slide cutter and love it. I was afraid I would have to turn it around but didn't. I like controlling the paper w/ my left hand and sliding the cutter w/ my right. Guess it's kinda like running a sewing machine.. total fabric control w/ my dominent left hand.. love it!
May God bless, Sandi

I just got mine, it is an adjustment to using it with your right hand, but the cuts are so nice you can get used to it. I am a lefty.

Lefty here too! I have the Tonic and have no problems using it. You use your left hand to keep the plastic guard down to keep a nice straight cut. The right hand just guides the arm up and down.
