I just received mine and haven't had a lot of time to play with it but love it so far. It is great that it sits right inside of the Scor Pal so I don't have to keep moving it off my workstation -- now I can just work on top of it on the mat.
I love the S/P...however, personally, not too sure I'd be happy w/ a shiny surface.
When I started working on an 17x23 quilting mat...the glare went away from my stamp light. The light in my stamp room is horrid (or is it the age?).
>>The translucent Scor-Mat fits exactly in the recessed area of your Scor-Pal. It is almost 12" x 12". On one side is a self-healing cutting mat with 1/8th increments in white and inch markings in black. The other side is a shiny work surface. It has slight static so paper stays in place. After scoring, no need to put your Scor-Pal away, you can work on top of your Scor-Mat. The introductory price until July 4th is $12.50.

I got my mat a couple of days ago and I have been working on it since then. I love how quickly and easily the mat slides out to use the score part, then slides right back in. I tried stamping on it with dye ink to see if it would stain, but a baby wipe took it all off in a sec. I think this mat/Scor Pal combo would be great for taking along to work at a crop or stamp camp or a friends house. No worries about marring their table or such.
