I just got in 4 of the 3" Mcgill punches for the tags, file folder label, etc. 3 out of the 4 work really pretty good, but one of them is stuck in the pushed down mode. Do you have that problem and does anyone know how to fix it, besides mailing it back to the vendor? I'd appreciate any tips on this.
First punch some aluminum foil with it to sharpen it and then punch some waxed paper to lubricate it. On one of my punches I used sewing machine oil and it worked, but it was really tough cleaning up the oil so it would punch and not leave an oil spot. That was a last resort on that punch. The wax paper should do the trick and you might not even need the aluminum foil, so try it first.
