adirondack alcohol inks
I have several of the Adirondack alcohol inks in the dropper style bottles, does anyone know if I can make these into a spritz? I was thinking of using the Ranger mini misters and dropping a few drops of the alchohol ink in, adding some of the alchohol blending stuff, shaking and trying to make it into a spritz.
Anyone does this? Can it be done? Also .. do the alchohol inks work on fabrics? |
I think I have seen a tutorial
here on spritzing your stamps with the alcohol ink, I can't see why you couldn't do what you are suggesting, at the very least you could at least try it shouldn't hurt anything : ) I would not use the blending solution, maybe just rubbing alcohol.
I can't find the tutorial right now, will try to look for it later. |
I know that somewhere I read that Ranger advises against using the blending fluid in a mister bottle - it has some kind of resins in it that would be very bad to inhale, I guess.

rgrohall....Have you gone to the Ranger website to find ideas? I think that would answer your questions very well. Yes, you would use the Blending Solution to dilute the alcohol inks. Yes the Blending Solution does have a strong odor, but just don't inhale it directly.
As far as using on fabrics, I have no experience with that. I've only used on paper and metal items. Patti |
Thanks Patti - I'll try checking the Ranger site.

Here's a great tutorial on spritzing with alcohol inks by Donna who is marvelous with them: http://thestampsource.blogspot.com/2...nk-spritz.html She also dips paper in bowls of water with them (glossy cs would be dreamy): http://thestampsource.blogspot.com/2...-blossoms.html Happy alcohol inking! :O) Mel |
While at the Ranger Booth at CHA, Tim Holtz said, "Please do not put the blending solution in the mini misters. There is a resin that when sprayed could get onto your eyes and stay there forever!!!"
|
uugh! I'd hate to have resin in my eye forever just because I liked the look of it on paper. :(

I just tried to call the number from the ink bottles (regarding safety questions) and got "Chem Trek." It sounded like a site for reporting national disasters! "If you are calling to report a spill, leak, or fire..." I may get the courage to call back during business hours...

The colorwash sprays are very different, they spread and saturate and you get whole coverage while the alcohol inks sorta end up in mottled globs. This is with the alcohol inks: http:////www.splitcoaststampers.com/...0&ppuser=51405 I have some to post soon showing the color washes |
