Question Adhesive for Altenew Wide Washi Tape?

Below is a sample from the company web site of one of Altenew's new wide washi tapes.

Since the surface is not porous like cardstock, I am wondering if anyone has success using a specific adhesive, such as one would use below, to attach a die cut or other embellishment to the surface. I don't want to see the add on pieces come loose in the mail. I doubt matte medium would hold anything securely. ATG tape does not attach easily to the washi itself; so I don't know if any tape will hold well once in place.

(Covering a card is not a problem, as the excess tape can be wrapped around the back.)

I have tried this but my first idea was foam tape (like Scotch/3M). Sometimes, for extra sticking power, I apply 2-sided tape to the sticky foam. My preferred 2-sided tape is also Scotch/3M.

Hope you find something that works for you (and share your results. The wash tape is on my wishlist!)

You could be right, but Ranger Multi Medium Matte is strong - have you tested it on a small piece? I got one of the wide washi tapes and haven’t opened it yet.

I thought I’d test Scor-Tape also, running it through my die cutting machine. (It also comes in 6x6 sheets and other sizes.) Elizabeth Crafts also has a nicely sticky tape - we used it in an Expo class.

Did Altenew give you any ideas? They’re usually pretty quick to respond to emails. Let us know how it goes.

The two cards I made this weekend got a mix of ATG, wide double sided Sookwang tape, Xyron, and foam tape, and everything seems to be sticking pretty securely, so I am feeling more confident about using the various tape products for adhering.

I looked at a bunch of YouTube videos on the wide Altenew washi. A number of cards skirt the issue, such as having the word die cut out of the washi base card and then placing the diecut into the negative space or having the embellishment partially on cardstock or ribbon and partially on washi. The only liquid adhesive I saw used was Tonic Nuvo glue (adhering small leaves) and Glossy Accents (probably used for the sequins).

For now, I will try to keep to double-sided tape as much as possible.
