I think I have the ones from Michaels. Mine have a curved edge, which makes them easy to pick up and hold. They also have grid lines marked to line up your stamps.
As far as size goes, it depends on the size of stamps that you use most often. I have a sort of medium size block that I use most of all. The small one is great for small sentiment stamps, like those from Paper Trey.
The only time I have used the really large one is for one of those long flourishes from Autumn Leaves.
