Smile My Ribbon Holder

I posted a couple of pictures in the gallery of the ribbon holder my DH made for me. I hope it will help someone else needing a place to store their ribbon. I have a lot because it is a collection from stamping, sewing, and other crafts. The holder is made from a large PVC pipe that was split in half to make 2. I got the idea of using a gutter from someone here on SCS but couldn't find one large enough to fit the large spools of ribbon so we came up with this idea.

Looks good. I'll probably end up with something similar down the road when project permanent scrap room comes up on the list of things to do.

Great idea. Have you thought about putting a slit in it for the ribbon edges to "hang down"?

I use the counter beneath as a cutting counter and also have a large padded ironing Space Board that I keep on it so I like to have the ribbon contained in the holder instead of hanging down. I can just remove the roll I want to use and then put it back.

I don't blame you. I hate having the mess of the ribbon hanging down, unless it's in a box. Besides sometimes you have to actually messure how much you want and it's easier to have the whole roll next to you. I always end up stinging my ribbon accross my craft room becuase it hangs on a hanger.

I wish I had a place to put something like that. Oh well maybe in the future.
