A6 envelopes with Envelope Punch Board
Hello all.....I'm looking at my WRMK envelope punch board. It defines an A6 size envelope as being 4 1/2 x 6 1/2. As far as I know, an A6 envelope is 4 3/4 x 6 1/2. Has anyone figured out how to make a 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 envelope using the punch board and an 8 1/5 x 11 piece of cardstock?

I have an app called Envelope Generator and inserted card dimensions of 6-1/4" x 4-1/2". It came up with paper sized at 8-7/8" with punching at 3-3/4".
For a card sized 6-1/2" x 4-3/4", the paper called for is 9-1/4" with a 4" punch. So, it appears that using an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of CS wouldn't work. |
Cut 8.5" square, Score A 5" Score B 3 3/4" Makes a card that is 4 13/16 x 6 5/8. The extra 1/16 and 1/8 allows for slightly thicker cards.

Thanks for your responses, ladies....much appreciated! Carla.....I'm not sure I understand you.....are you talking about measurements for a WRMK punch board? Or something else?

Sorry, I wasn't as clear as needed. This is for the WRMK envelope punch board. Make the first score at 5" rotate paper and score at 3 3/4", rotate and score at 5" and the final score is at 3 3/4".
I laid a card diagonally in the middle of an 8.5" square, drew lines around the card and scored just outside of those lines. |
Ta Da!!! Thanks so much, Carla!!

Greetings. Just saw your question. I use this idea to make all sizes of envys.
1. Measure your finished card diagonally from corner to corner. 2. Add 1/2 inch to the measurement and cut out the square. (ie. if the measurement is 6 1/2 - add 1/2 inch and cut a square 7 x 7. 3. Lay card on top of square and fold. |

I'm glad you found a solution. As for myself, I ignore the measurements when it comes to scoring and just rotate the paper to where it lines up and score.
