Default Sticky Mats

Are all sticky mats for die cut machines the same, meaning do they all leave sticky stuff on the cut-out when you take it off the sticky mat?

I love using my Slice b/c it doesn't leave any stickiness behind on the cut-out or leftover CS. I have used a cricut before and it's sticky mat always left sticky stuff on the cut-outs and leftover CS. :( I am wondering if Cameo, Boss Gazelle, or Zing does this. I think they would since they use sticky mats also, but I have never used them to know. Does anyone else know?

If anything the sticky on the mat would have some paper left stuck to it, not the other way around. I can't speak to the other brands of mats, but I have a Cricut and the brand new Cricut mats are very sticky at first making it is hard to get the paper off of the mat until they're worn in a bit. If the sticky is coming off your mat and on to your cut out pieces, you might have a faulty mat. I'm told the Sizzix mats work in the Cricut and might try those when I purchase more mats. I keep three mats on the go with varying degrees of stickiness and I re-stick them with a Zig Two Way Glue pen. Works like a charm!

Oh! I never thought about a faulty mat! (I didn't know that could happen!) I just ran across some of the paper I used with a cricut one time years ago and it still has sticky stuff on it and is sticking to my other "remnants"! I do like your idea os the two way glue pen!! Great idea!!

I've had my CraftRobo for a few years and have never had problems with glue coming up off my mat onto my die cut except when I first re-sticky the mat. I just take an old t shirt and tap it on the mat to take down some of the tackiness and then it works fine.
