Question Will cuttlebug embossing folder work in ellison machine?

Hi everyone,
I just bought a super cute cuttlebug embossing folder (snowflakes), but I don't have a cuttlebug. I do work at a school and we have the standard school ellison die cutting machine. Would this cuttlebug embossing folder work in the ellison machine at school?

Anyone know???
I hope so!!

They have a large Ellison at the LSS I used to work at and I think it might work, since it's a roller based system, you'll probably have to have some shims or something to make it be tight but I'd say give it a try.

Default Ellison

But it is a press Ellison system. With the handle that you press down, like that red machine by Sizzix.

Any ideas??

Does anyone know for sure if this will work?

I guess I could just try it.

I would say give it a try. Since the Cuttlebug embossing folders are plastic, they have a bit of give to them so you aren't likely to hurt it in the big Ellison machine. I've even read where people have run the folders through a pasta machine.

Hi I, too, have the same kind of Ellison machine that you're describing at my school and I only tried it once, quickly. You need to have some kind of shim in with the folder for it to work. I tried to use one of the die blocks and that made it too thick. Try to find a piece of wood (or something sturdy) that isn't as thick as one of the die cuts you use for the machine. Good luck!
