In Search of a particular "poem"
Help please! I am trying to find a poem that I read once on a card - I believe it was probably a Mother's Day card from a daughter-in-law to her mother-in-law. It had several verses but basically it was the daughter-in-law thanking her mother-in-law for raising such a good man and I think it said something along the lines of "you held the hand of the boy now I hold the hand of the man." I would like to re-word this to create a gift for my soon-to-be daughter-in-law. If anyone happens to know the poem I'm talking about I would greatly appreciate help w/the words.
Thanks so much! Barbra |
I found something very close ("... You used to pat his little head and now I hold his hand. You raised in love a little boy then gave to me a man." ...) on this website:

Tina - That is the very poem I was searching for! Thanks so much!!! I happened across the poem for the daughter-in-law that you also found; I really like it. Now I have to decide which one to use! Thank you so much for taking the time to do a search for a stranger.

You're very welcome Barbra. I'm glad my search brought the results you needed. I think the idea is very sweet.
PS - I don't think of anyone on SCS as a stranger - just a friend I haven't made yet! |
