You can use a Xyron machine and coat the whole back of the piece of vellum.
My favorite: using the little clear template that came with the tool kit and marking four corners of an "X" with the needle tool: two holes on the card base and two on the vellum, then making a cross-stitch "X" with linen thread or cotton crochet thread.
My favorite way I make vellum stick is with Krylon spray adhesive. Can be found at Michaels in the glue section for about $7+. I have both permenate and removable. Works great to hold other things in place too without using ribbons, brads or anything else. If you dont spray from a distance you get little spots..........Check out the card I did for "Twelve Days of Christmas". The vellum on the front and mulberry inside both have been sprayed.
If I am stamping something under it I just put the adhesive on the background stamp and you cannot see the adhesive through the vellum. Otherwise I just use brads or eyelets to attach the vellum. Good luck!
I agree with Denise, I use Scotch vellum tape and you can not see it. I should probably mention that I only use SU vellum cardstock instead of paper. I like the weight better.
my favorite way to attach vellum is by folding it around the back of a piece of cardstock. Then you can put adhesive back there where no one sees...doesn't work though if you are wanting a border all the way around a piece of vellum.
Like Dawson said, the spray adhesives are nice IF you don't spray too close! I have used Scrapper's Spray (Creative Imaginations?) and generally like the results. I always forget to do what jhattery mentioned...folding around the cardstock. That's a great idea.
My Xyron machine is my favorite way to adhere vellum, hands down! I haven't found anything that works better.
