Default What do you use to color die cuts?

Welll, me and my Bug have punched out a bunch of things and now I want to color them. Markers just didn't work for me - YIKES! Pastels are iffy, pencils are too hard(?) Any suggestions? I'm going to try my twinkling h20s next. Thanks for your help.

I've used my craft acrylic paints on them. Or, I'll glue cardstock or patterned paper on the chipboard, and then run it through my (friend's) cuttlebug. I've also inked them up (for smaller dies) or embossed them with embossing powders.

I like to color the little animal dies with just markers....

And as for the tags and stuff, I cut them out of chipboard and smoosh them in the versamark pad them emboss to make them look like metal.

I use UTEE on the chipboard diecuts and sometimes stamp in them while the UTEE is hot and they look awesome.
