Default Tapestry technique question

First off

THANK YOU

I love the tutorial on the tapestry technique. I saw the samples when they were first posted, but it didn't register with me how to do it. Gonna have to try it soon. Beautiful!

So, before I try it I need a little more info. I don't have craft pads-except white and a couple other that are probably dried up. Can I just use classic pads and then cover over it with versamark (either brayer or dtp) and then pour on the embossing powder? Will it turn out okay, or does this work better using the craft pads?

I guess I should try it out on my own, huh? Thought I'd ask for opinions of those w/experience, though!

Oh, please, can someone help me? You don't want me to waste perfectly good card stock to find out if this works or not, now, do you?

I did it that way and it came out just fine. (I did 2 coats of EP) The only thing that has to be craft is the white/vanilla. Hope that helps.

I used the classic pads and only one layer of EP. It came out okay, I think. I haven't used it on a card yet but I'll try and attach the image. I used Perfect Plum, Mauve Mist and Bordering Blus classic pads and White Craft.
