Question Streaking?

I was glancing through the uploads from today. Many from the VSN challenge mention using the 'streaking' technique. Can someone explain how it's done?

Some seemed to be ink pads dragged across cardstock, but others mention reinkers and wipes?

TIA!

I copied and pasted these instructions from Kristina's VSN's challenge post. Hopes this helps.

Follow these directions to make a card using the Streaking Technique:

#1 Wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol and place a few drops of reinker on it. Drag the wet cotton ball across white glossy cardstock. Add more colors or leave it as is. Do one color at a time or many together. It dries fast and will be ready for use as a background or to stamp on in no time!

Example: http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.c...&cat=500&page=1

#2 Limited Supplies? You can get a different streaking effect by dragging your cardstock against your stamp pad. Lay the cardstock on an open stamp pad and drag with moderate to heavy pressure.

Thanks for posting that!

It should have occurred to me to go look for posts about the VSN. I'm going to chalk it up to lack of sleep! I'm sending my son off to camp for the first time - and of course left everything (i.e. laundry) until the last minute so I could work on convention swaps.

Thumbs up TLC20

Baby wipes was the challenge this week that Showmestamper posted on Monday. You can streak with that also. Check it out.

Default Baby Wipes/Streaking

I don't understand how you get the stripes with the baby wipes technique...I tried just putting a few drops of ink on a baby wipe and dragging it down some glossy paper but the stripes are real wide and I like the look of the skinny stripes...can someone help me figure this out?
