Default Rubber Cement Resist tech?

Hi, I tried the Rubber Cement Resist technique today and am having a hard time getting the cement off the cardstock. In the tutorial, Beate says to use fingers or adhesive remover. I'm having trouble peeling off the cement with my fingers. I also tried Goo Gone and it works well, but I'm having trouble controlling what cement goes and what cement stays. It's easier just to use it all over the cardstock and remove all of the cement rather than in certain areas. This seems like a very labor intensive technique. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Are you using Glossy cardstock or regular?
I have noticed it does not work well on regular CS so I only use glossy!!
HAVE FUN!!

Again, make sure you are using glossy CS, but to remove the rubber cement, I just rub a paper towel or kleenex across the card, and it rubs the RC right off. Very quick and easy.

If you apply the rubber cement in several layers it works best. I do this:
Dribble on glossy cardstock, apply ink, let dry
apply more rubber cement, apply ink, let dry
apply even more rubber cement, apply ink let dry

After all is done and dry, I rub off the rubber cement with my finger. If I have trouble with some sections, I use a rubber cement eraser (It looks like it is made of dried up rubber cement) you can find it at any craft store in the art department (painting, drawing section)
