Default Big Clippies

Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

These clips are super easy to do, but there have been requests for instructions so here goes:

Supplies: Mega clips (they measure anywhere from 3.5 - 4 inches) and are available at office supply stores, Target, Wal Mart, etc.
Die cutting system - I use the Cuttlebug
Thin chipboard - I used thin white chipboard coasters, but any chipboard will do.
Patterned papers
Embellishments of your choice
E6000 adhesive

Directions for one clip:

Die cut 2 shapes of your choosing from thin chipboard. Die cut patterned paper using same die. Adhere paper to chipboard. Embellish as desired. Place a big glop of E6000 on reverse side of one papercovered die cut, smoosh clip into glue, attach other die to backside. Be sure that the glue accepts the second die, if unsure, place a bit more glue onto die before attaching. Let dry thoroughly. I let them sit for at least 12 hours.

I wish I could go back and edit! Sometimes I cover both sides of each die cut with paper, the showing one patterned, the backside plain cardstock. And in the last sentence, the die reference should be die cut, just a minor difference!

Oh....... I saw these first posted by Iris. Here is the link. I have been too sick to go out and grab some of these. But when I saw them posted back in December in Iris' gallery I knew I had to get some. Valerie just happened to remind me today when I saw that she started a thread about them. Hat's of to Iris for the original inspiration for these beautiful clips.

My FIRST post of these I did give credit for them. You'll find that here:

After getting pms and requests for comments both times I posted this, I made this thread. Pam is a good friend of mine, and I'm sure isn't too upset about this, saved her typing it up.

E6000 is an industrial type glue that can be found in any craft store or place that carries craft supplies. I found it at Wal-Mart in the craft department.

These are adorable!!! Doesn't E600 give off nasty fumes and they recommend good ventilation when using? If this is the case (I have a bird) I'll have to wait until spring or summer when I can go outside to do these. Love em! I tell you we have such a wonderful talented group her it blows me away!!

Yes - that's true. I have 3 birds (2 macaws and a lovebird) ao I am careful to use it on the opposite side of the house from them with the door open next to me. Since it's a gel-like substance the fumes don't travel like a spray would. But I agree it's important to be super careful! What kind of bird do you have? You can see 2 of mine in the pic in my public profile.

Hello Ladies!
What beautiful clips - all of them! These are amazing. I would love to do these with my Stampers Club, however I do not have a die cut system - is there another way?

If your cardboard isn't too thick - a cereal box would do - you can use your stampin up punches: Circle punch, tag punch even the ovals would work I think.

Thanks everyone. I will definitely have to look in to the cereal box and Scrappin' Kit info. It will be so worth it if it works. I am still incredibly in awe of how sweet these clips are! Thanks for your ideas!

It's so funny to see this thread! I saw 11Valerie11's and knew I had to do it for my swap presents. I stopped by Wally's yesterday and got all 4 packages they had of the mega clips then I just cut mine out tonight... but am too darn tired to stay up and finish. I'll hopefully finish after work (grrr... why cant' I stay home and stamp!!).
I plan on using crystal effects and seeing if that works. If someone has already tried this it WON"T work, please post to this thread and let me know!
