Default Polished stone question...

Where do I find the Acrylic Sealant?? I looked today at Archiver's and Hobby Lobby and didn't find it, but I am thinking I looked in the wrong place??

Thanks for your help!!

(PS... I am trying to do Polished Stone Technique... is there anything else I could use as a sealant?)

I've never had to seal my polished stone... Are you doing it with dye ink reinkers or alcohol ink? With the alcohol inks I did card boxes for friends 2 yrs ago, did not seal them, and they are holding up beautifully.

With dye reinkers - I use that on cards all the time and I have never needed to seal it.

You can get acrylic sealer in craft stores where they sell acrylic paints.

Hope this helps!

I was taught to seal it too. The sealer I have is in a spray can.

I was able to find the Clear Acrylic Sealer at Michaels. I found it in the paint section not in the craft section of the store. The brand name I purchased was Plaid. Works perfectly.

I just made 2 of these cards and sealed them with a .97 cent bottle of Suave hairspray. It works like a charm!;)

ETA: I didn't use the whole bottle on the two cards........

I am using a mix of SU! reinkers and my metallic is Adirondack Silver and Gold reinkers. I am doing it on glossy cardstock (can I do it on regular?).

I was so excited to try it last night that I too used Suave Hairspray for the sealant. Then I stamped on it with Black StazOn. Seemed to work... It's just for cards.

Thanks everyone for your help!!

...wondering if I can get some "sealant" at Walmart?

The reason you use glossy cardstock is because the ink doesn't dry right away so you can play and move the inks around. You wouldn't be able to do that with regular cardstock.

I have found sealeant in WalMart in the craft section. Look near the craft paint. The one I have is from Plaid.

The only time I sealed mine is to try to keep the color brighter, normally I do nothing.

I had to seal mine as the whole side of my hand (even a couple of hours after stamping it) kept getting streaked with metallic ink.

Really? I've used the Ranger Metallic additives and the Krylon pens and never had it come off. What type of metallic were you using?

Well....that may explain the no drying part. If you are using regular metallic reinkers.....just spray sealer and be done. If you don't want to spray, then get the mixatives.....they dry and don't come off.

I vote with Ann it's much easier to just use the mixatives and they come out really pretty. I've never sprayed my polished stone and I've sent a few cards out with this technique and have never heard of any of them bleeding.
