Ok ladies, I need help. Well, in more ways than one, but for now, I'll start off with my pearl ex question.
What the heck do I do with it? I've literally had it for about 2 years and have NEVER used it. I tried to use versa mark and a stamp, then heat set, but the powder got all over my page. Not just the image. What can I do with this stuff??? I'm dying to know. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

When you use PE with VM, you have to seal it with hairspray or an acrylic sealer otherwise it *will* get everywhere. But it's a lovely effect.
Also, if you put some PE in a small bottle of hairspray and shake it really well, it will give you a nice sparkly effect all over your CS when you spray it. And since it's already mixed with hairspray, it seals itself.
My favorite PE use right now is with Future floor polish. Use Future as the 'water', dip into PE and then paint. I Clear emboss some images first and then paint in the rest with PE and it is really cool - and easy.

for versamark and pearl ex you do not need to heat the image. Stamp your image in versamark then stipple pearl ex over top and wipe off excess pearl ex with a swiffer cloth. Seal the image with aerosol hairspray or acrylic sealer. You can also stamp an image in craft ink and then stipple pearl ex over top. If you use the interference colors they are different colors on black craft and white craft. There are also lots of tutuorial on here now for pearl ex ideas.

Oh, Karie - I feel your pain! Mine set for at least a year and then I drug it back out and started messing with it. Yes, messing, because it can be a tad messy! These ideas are great and trust me, when you make your first successful project with the supah fine shimmery stuff you'll love it. Post pics when you get that first one done!
Last night we did this technique! First we stamped with VM, then embossed with clear powder. Next we did a brush (very lightly) into the Pearl Ex and rubbed it over the embossed image. Then we heat set the powder and rubbed a swiffer cloth over the image to remove any left over powder. It came out beautiful

I must not know what I'm doing because I stamped a vine all over with VM and then added the Pearl Ex. Wiped it off with a tissue & VOILA. It was beautiful & I didn't seal it. It's still there.
