For polished stone technique, you will need glossy cardstock, dye based reinkers and a gold or silver encore reinker, cotten ball, alcohol. You drop a few drops of gold or silver reinker on the cardstock (not too much). Wet your cotten ball with alcohol and add drops of the dye based reinker to the wet cotten ball and then just dab the cardstock with the cotten ball. You will see a nice pattern develop. Lay cardstock aside to dry. Hope this helps.

You can't use just regular rubbing alcohol. You need to use the 90% kind, otherwise your end project won't look right. And you need to spray the cardstock with hairspray or matte finish Krylon to keep the metallic ink from rubbing off.

Hope this helps.

Default polished stone

I use a small square of felt instead of a cotton ball. Gauze squares are great also.
Make certain that the reinkers are dye inks. Use two colors and a metalic ink. Dab on glossy cardstock in quick motions. Cover the whole pabe and let dry.

Thought I would share how I have done the polished stone technique:
Wet a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, sparatically put two drops from a reinker(I used SU classic reinkers in at least two or three different colors) and a few drops of a metallic reinker on the cotton ball, then daubed it on a piece of cut-to-size glossy paper. It worked great at a workshop since you only had the one cotton ball to throw out and when it was dry enough to handle, it is already the size you need so you can continue with yor demo. Some of the metallic will rub off when handled if you don't spray it.
