Default Making Wine Charms

I would like to make wine charms for all the wine glasses on our Christmas dinner table but I don't know how to do it and have been unsuccessful finding a tutorial. I want to use shrinkadink plastic and if possible I would like to punch out a tag shape before shrinking it. How do I go about doing this whole thing? Anyone?

Sorry I don't have a picture to show as an example, but at a recent party the hostess had used stamped circles of cardstock as charms or labels for wine glasses. Actually I think she called them "collars".

With a large punch she had punched large circles of cardstock that were probably 2-1/2" across (about the same size as the foot of the wine glasses); in the center of that circle, she punched circles that were about a half-inch across -- basically it was a flat donut shape with the center hole being not a lot larger than the stem of the wine glasses.

Use scissors to make a single cut into the circle (so that after they're stamped/decorated the circles can placed around the stem of a wine glass).

After they were cut she stamped them but left a section of the cardstock unstamped so that the party guests could use a marker to write their name on the "collar" and then place it around their wine glass.

You could stamp them with any design to go with any occasion, but for her holiday party she had used white cardstock and stamped snowflakes in light, medium, and dark shades of blue.

I know it's not quite what you were looking for, but thought I'd toss the idea out there. And if you find yourself running short on time, this would be a quick project!

Happy Holidays,

I made these wine glass charms: Wine Glass Charms by stamping_KML at Splitcoaststampers

Instead of the charms I used, you can use shrinkadinks. For the silver wire, I used Beadalon Silver Plated Memory Wire. This wire is heavy and is already in a circular shape, so I just had to cut it down & make the loops to join. I purchased all my supplies from Hobby Lobby.

Have fun!

Also, if you go to www.etsy.com and search "wine charms" you'll see hundreds of samples to get some ideas.

I also remember seeing a tutorial on Nicole's (The Stampin' Librarian's) sight, but I can't seem to find it. The search link isn't working for me. Here is the link to her blog:

I have been wanting to make these myself for awhile. I bought the shrink plastic last year--that's as far as I got!

Default Wine Charms

I think wine charms with the shrinkies would be great. I used to get the metal collars at Walmart in the craft section at a very reasonable rate. A few beads would really finish it off. When you see how easy and cheap it is to make these, you will gasp at what they charge for them. Awesome gifts for people too.

Nice presentation of the charms as well ladies. Y'all so talented.

Default wineglasscharms

I made a Christmas set a few years ago- I guess i did not download them at that time, so I did tonight.......a little late for christmas- so sorry.....
Wineglass charms by mcschmidty at Splitcoaststampers

This is a set I made with wonderful wings for my Secret sis a long time ago..... Stamp the image and you can use chalk to color the image- the color gets more vibrant when it shrinks. You can use scissors to cut out the Shrink plastic, punch the hole for the finding, and then shrink with your heat gun. These dragonflies were an absolute PAIN!!! Add the finding and the beads.

Hope that you found what you needed in time for your gift giving.
