I use reg ink. I stamp the image(s) I want on a piece of tissue paper (like for gift wrapping) I cut around the image(s) so there is little tissue as possible and place it where I want it on the candle. I put wax paper on top (waxy side down) bust out my heat gun and heat the wax from the paper melts off and seals the tissue onto the candle and you will be able to see only the image!

I only have craft ink pads and used them. It worked out beautifully. Just make sure you give the ink time enough to dry before you work with the tissue paper or you'll be dealing with smudges. Otherwise, proceed as per the tutorial.
