Default How to make wedding invitations

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for simple, elegant ideas for wedding invitations. I've seen several with multiple pockets - not sure I want to go to that much effort. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Here's a really simple invite I made for my parent's 25th wedding anniversary. It can easily be adapted to wedding invites.

And here's the wedding invites I made for my son's wedding.

I made pocket wedding invites last year. I ordered the outer pieces from Cards & Pockets - World Leader in DIY Pocketfold Invitation Supplies

Super easy, great prices and service.

I am the 'official' invitation maker in our family and just got done making 140 invites for my cousin's wedding. Whew! What I have done in the past is buy the invitations from Michael's and then jazz them up. The brand at Michael's is Gartner - there web site is here: www.gartnerstudios.com

I buy them one box a week and use a Michael's coupon, so they are inexpensive and even if you don't do anything to jazz them up, they look fantastic. If you do decide to jazz them up, just remember to keep it simple. You want to be able to re-create the invite and have it look just as good with the first one as well as the 101st one.

Can't wait to see what you do!!

I second the idea of buying a kit. They are really nice and printing takes time as it is. I've made invites for my daughter's wedding (50), my son's (125), my other daughter's (125), graduation announcements, and many baby announcements. It's very, very time consuming. When you make a large quantity, it's not nearly as fun as you'd think it'd be. Rewarding though, of course!
